I think the manga was like a sport as it involve racing and maybe a little romance.
I remember in the beginning the protagonist is a poor elementary boy who live with his father. His father works in a automobile repair shop. The boy was bullied a lot in the school because he was poor, but there was a little girl who always support him which cause a rich little boy to be jealous of him (the rich boy has crush on the girl ;D). One day, his father found a mini go-kart dump in the scraps. So he picked it up and decide to fix it for the boy. The father wanted to surprise the boy, but the boy found it first and decide to give it a try by rolling down from a hill. That's all I remember
