This is old news but...

From Anime News Network:

Quote
This year's 15th issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine is announcing on Saturday that a television anime adaptation of Mizuho Kusanagi's shōjo manga Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn or Yona, the girl standing in the blush of dawn) has been green-lit.

Old news, yeah, but still completely awesome news. I'm honestly surprised people haven't been posting this already. I'm counting the days. I feel like I've been counting the days for years! Since the beginning it was obvious this would make a great anime. And once Shin-ah appeared... well. laugh

First episode was almost line by line, and the art was pretty good. Seemed to have a good grasp of the funny/sweet/serious/funny tone of the manga. I'd say there's some potential there!

Anime has also been licensed by Funimation (here). The news isn't exactly recent, but hey. Thought it should be mentioned here too.

From what I remember (it's been over a year since I saw the anime after all), the major difference I can think of was that in the manga, Su-won visited the Earth Tribe after going to Awa (the chapters around the mock battle with Geun-tea take place after Zeno joined Yona's group).

There are usually many small things left out of an anime, but overall I think you could enjoy picking up in the manga where the anime left off.
