Princess has been one of my all time favorites because it was one of the first mangas I've ever read. I started reading it back in 2007/2008? And I was never able to move on from it because the manhwa artist injured her hand and couldn't continue T___T. Sometimes I even reread it again because it's been so long. I'm looking for manga/manhwa similar to Princess. Not just a historical genre but with knights, princesses, princes, kings, queens, romance, politics, drama etc. (you'll understand if you've read princess before biggrin)

If you guys could recommend your favorite ones that would be much appreciated!! Thank you!

Ah sweet Princess. T_T I remember reading it when it was first being scanslated.
I can't think of many manga/manhwa that spans from the main characters to their children being the new focus. Much less with such depth. A majority I would recommend are the old school manga. Not many new series can compete with the old stuff in terms of story depth.

Basara
Absolute Witch
Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori
The Queen's Knight
Crystal Dragon
Land of Silver Rain
Saver
Superior
Kanata Kara
Kyuuketsu Yuugi
The Bride of the Water God
Legend of Nereid
Kakan no Madonna
Chang Ge Xing
Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä
Marginal - no prince or princess but good.
Ragtonia

Scarlet Palace is the only one that comes to mind for the political intrigue.

Thank you!! Arcana, Saver and Masca were also one of my favorites so I think I'm going to reread it. I guess it's hard to find anything similar to Princess. I heard she decided to pick it up again!! Totally excited. But she's redrawing everything and then continuing from where she left off. It'll be a long while but I can't wait smile wink grin

If you want politics & drama check out Saiunkoku Monogatari. Watch the anime though, it's easier to follow and I don't think the light novel is fully translated.

There's also Okobore Hime to Entaku no Kishi. Wonderful female lead. Unfortunately very short because it is a promo for the light novels.

I second Chang Ge Xing & Scarlet Palace. ^^

Ah, Princess, I am so glad it's continuing. Anyway something that basically fits but isn't Historical Fantasy is Ooku. It's quite lovely, though I recommend reading the official English publication, it's done by Viz with really helpful historical notes in the back.

@Sogno Omg!! I love Saiunkoku Monogatari!! But they never continued translating so it's been stuck on my "Incomplete" list FORVER. Now that I know there's a anime, I might watch it..(I favor manga better haha)

Chang Ge Xing looks great!! Does it have romance?

@mikako17
Yesss! I loved Ooku too smile such tragedy tho :/

Romance in Chang Ge Xing is subtle so far, but imo the author seems to be intending an eventual love line between Chang Ge + the long-haired guy. IDK though.

then again I shipped Chang Ge with Mimi way hard, only to be v. disappointed because spoilers, but I digress.
