I actually feel bad for Sasuke. Because he's so badly written.

Sasukes only options for this battle are Death, Prison, or Banishment. There is no walking of into the sunset for him. Sasuke beats up everyone who cares for him. Leaves and joins a terrorist group then forms a terrorist group. Then comes back declares himself leader and finally a forced redemption battle.
I wasnt expecting everyone to be buddy buddy after sasuke returns. But he's been written into a corner where this fight IS his only choice.

So yeah i feel bad for Sasuke and his lost potential and blame the writer.

well yeah I guess there are people that feel bad for him. I just don't see the point.
I could say I feel bad for voldemort... or the imperator... or sauron. for the same reason.
but I don't really, because those are the final bosses for some (obvious) reason like being evil sociopaths for example...
on the contrary, if you actually feel for some character in a story, that typically means that this character is written pretty well, because otherwise you would not be able to do so in the first place.

If you choose to sympathize with some mass murderer running through the streets killing off children because he gets put into a prison you are allowed to do so. just don't expect him to walk free because of that sympathy...

I (luckily) did not get into naruto, but the general opinion seems to be he is an evil sociopath. blaming the author to create a character who does evil things and delivering character traits to actually have a reason to do so is strange, because that is kind of required. I don't think there is a person on this planet who would like to see two good natured, kind sheep got to war over whether last day's grass was slightly greener than today's.
if there is, I would feel bad for them, and blame any author who dares to write such stuff.

As dumb as a lot of Naruto is, I'm willing to give the mangaka some benefit of the doubt. Mainly because Sasuke has been consistently been portrayed as a massive douche and a murderous sociopath. Him being written into a corner was purely intentional, and if your complaint is "How dare you write a character that's actually a bad person!", then it says a lot more about you than the story.

I'm actually extremely proud that the trigger was pulled and he wasn't given some cheap cop-out.
