I decided to be different and go about this backwards, hopefully it works out alright.
Hello, I'm Glyph. As the title indicates, I am looking for a group to translate for (JPN --> ENG) and collaborate with. I'm hoping to find an established group to work with. Initially, I would like to work on one manga project, preferably from the first chapter that I can translate week-to-week as it comes out.

Bio: I got into anime & manga in the mid to late 90's. I have studied Japanese for about 10 years now: 2 at a US university, 1 living in central Japan at a Japanese university, about 4 years on my own after that, and for the past 3 years I worked at a Japanese automotive company where I spoke, wrote, and read Japanese on a daily basis (I had to interview in English & Japanese to get the job).

I still have a ways to go developing my JP vocabulary, as my work vocab was fairly situation-specific, but I want to illustrate that I am accustomed to using my Japanese in a work setting and being on a schedule. I am reliable and certainly have a good enough foundation to translate manga correctly. I am looking for a fun way to further broaden my kanji recognition and develop my vocabulary: working on a team to help bring manga to more people would be fun and make it easier to stay interested & motivated than reading raws by myself.

I'd like to work on a shounen title set in the modern day. If there is a team looking to take on an upcoming manga project that has just been/is about to be released, feel free to contact me. Of course, I'll take a short test if you'd like to verify my skills. Thanks for reading.

I'm currently looking for a translator to help out with Mushrambo aka Shinzo. It consists of two volumes and right now I need a translator to help out with the last volume which is only 4 chapters due to the previous translator suffered a hand injury and can't type. Here's the site http://community.livejournal.com/shinzo_/19678.html
If you're willing to help out then I would truly appreciate it.

I also have another manga series, Cyborg 009 that needs help in translating. Although right now I want to focus on finishing Mushrambo first.
If interested in helping out, just PM me or email me at trunkschan90@hotmail.com

Is there a specific genre that you like doing? Usually it's easier if you go find a group you like and ask to join. =) Otherwise you're more than welcome to join my group if you wish. Either way good luck in finding a group!

Update - A group PM'd me and I picked up a short (2 Volume) project to work on, so I'm going to attack that for now. Thanks for reading.

Hello Arleea, thanks for taking the time to post. I guess my initial posting was a bit vague. >_<;
For future reference, I'd like to try working on a slice of life manga, either a school romance or a sports title would be fun. I've found something to work on for now, so I'll get through it and then see what comes my way.

Hey trunkschan90, thanks for your reply! Only 4 chapters shouldn't be too hard, but I'm going to power through a short project with a group that PM'd me. It's only 2 volumes so after that I'll look for you and see if you still need a hand. Cheers!
