No, the whole point of the manga was Naruto's journey to become Hokage, to get acceptance from his peers and village and to get his friend back, the war was something added in the middle of shippuden. Yet we don't get to see the moment he becomes Hokage and he doesn't really give his son any attention so he becomes like younger Naruto which is just a slap to the face for the fans. I feel like the only reason it was done that way because they wanted to milk the side series and keep the Naruto world alive which sucks because it is done with another author.

What an awful ending.

I find it totally ironic the last chapter is called "Naruto Uzumaki!!" when it should've been called "Pairings and shippings". Welp at least the ending will be better than Bleach...probably.

Please tell me you're joking about calling the series "Pairings and shippings".
Also, explain how it should have ended since you think it's an awful ending.

Just saw the new movie trailer. It seems Kishimoto is inserting new flashback material that doesn't exist in the manga and anime but some of it seems like it will contradict what is already established in the manga and anime. I am beginning to think chapter 699 is the actual end and chapter 700 is something he was forced to do to by the publishers and movie producers to promote the movie.

Isn't that quite obvious ?

Yes, This is exactly thing that we wanted to read when we started Naruto. Did you hear anything about " Rock 'N Roll Train by AD/DC " ? Kishimoto just fucked up the main story and drag it!

No you have the right to like it because people around my age changed their tastes after years. The mangakas should take it as advice and don't drag the stories for over 5 or 7 years.

My novel is up and approved ! 2154 words/11993 characters. I will now hide in shame-no-jutsu. A third of a 24 season was watched while writing.
I am afraid for the movie outside of the cool looking art and certain resolution aspects and even address my fears it my review. Triple kidnapping, FF VII plot repeats(best game ever), more(NOOOO/WHY ?) Kaguya and kidZ nonsense(worst part of the manga by a mile) and a jump by two years where everyone is apparently a shy virgin still ! Be still by beating hear. That kiss better bring it ! His kids aren´t twins so he is getting some action.Gigedy.The lows could be low and the highs maybe be high but the prequel oneshot should be cool. I should go up next week right ? The Road to Ninja one(another dark Link fight, way too much exposition, almost nothing to do for the well tough out side characters and so on) towers over that waste of setting movie. Lets hope we won´t see a repeat. It was real you guys ! Let´s meet again to bitch about the movie.

I now have a final question. One Piece is biggest manga seller ever and Luffy will become the ambassador for tourism in japan if sales continue to reach the moon. But what is the biggest manga outside of it´s home country. I think it is DB Z(the original manga is gold but everyting from Z forwards is not to my liking) or Ninja Boy but i can´t find good sales figures by marketplace. One Piece(the post time jump stuff is draining me way too fast) has the most google results by far though. More then even Batman(hero of heroes), Harry(i am only OK with him too) or Twilight(i have read the fascinating manga). Did i miss some international gum gum explosion ? Jason writeup is on my side but kind of a shame that he couldn't get into the characters during his marathon. He came came to the conclusion that Jiraiya needs to pay for sex. Jesus .
And before i forget: The shojo spinoff will be an adaptation of the Naruto High motion comic(so funny) but now with NO satire ! So basically like that unreadable EVA shojo spinoff. Naruto Crystal Kai Brotherhood by 2019(15th aniversary of the anime) is a given too. Please let it be by Toei or Bones. No more animation farming to Vietnam or whoever did Shippuden please. Only the music composer can stay.

No, I'm not joking. Just because you liked it, doesn't mean everyone else is rainbows and cookies with this crap ending. And that's what the series did. A majority of the guys achieve their dreams, all the girls become housewives (except for the unmarried ones who are all unsurprisingly unhappy) and all the couples have some kids that look stupid, Shikamaru being an exception.

Honestly, I don't care about all the shippings, but seriously, the ending was so weak. It's not surprising though, the last 100 chapters have been awful (the random sporadic villain changing, the buildups being left dry, characters getting no resolution). And no, I don't have to explain the ending because I'm not the damn author who wrote 700 chapters. We are the reader and he's the author in case you've forgotten. That's his job and it's his job to do a better job of closing the series and making a better resolution than "look we all married, look we all have kids, look now there is peace, look we are all happy and dandy! THE END!". 699 felt more like an ending than 700 because 700 felt like an asspull.

I'm sure we will have some spinoff involving the kids. And we can look forward to more milking the series. Yay~



Aren't we all a fool. Reading something that's not even enjoyable anymore. Since we started it so long ago, we just want to see it finish now.

And how I wish the series would end already. One down, one more to go.

One Piece can go long as long as it wants since it's still enjoyable.

699 was magic that we can all agree on. I am no fool and dropped Beach years ago but how longs is it´s final arc anyway ? I even wrote a review of a sane length !
Reasons are: No plot/logic(where is it ?), epic mullets(dreamy), Panther-man "Revelaitons"(WTF ?), 20 diffirent transformation versions for your favorite underwear model Ichigo(toyetic) and so many sweaty men homoerotix(i occasionally read porn for women to stay informed and can spot certain things) for the by now mostly female to lust after. Kind of funny actually.

• Are Naruto and Sasuke still Genin ?
The final battele against Kaguya was Asura's Wrath so who cares about power rankings.

No where in the storyline ever suggest Naruto will end up with Sakura.
Sakura heart/soul/mind/everything always for Sasuke.
Naruto too has given up on her since he grew up.

You too need to grow up, if you don't like it write your own fanfic. This is Kishimoto's manga not yours, and the ending is just nice.

Several places actually. No place it suggest he will end up with Hinata. No place it suggests Sakura will end up with Sasuke either. I would have no problem if he actually showed relationship progress with the other characters but there were none. Whether you accept it or not chapter 700 is a hacked up job to just promote the movie. Only thing clear cut was Shikamaru x Temari. Original objective of the story was to see Naruto grow up and be respected by all then Sakura growing up was also added with clear indications of her growing up. In the end it seems to be dropped.

Explain to me why Sakura's daughter looks like Karin x Sasuke instead of Sakura x Sasuke while all other kids look similar to their parents!

Well anyway why do you care. No need to comment if you don't like it.. Let the people who are not satisfied do what they can to get a more satisfactory ending just like how the Hinata fans got Hinata brought back after Kishimoto killed her off.

Anyway, I agree that the end wasn't written very well. Not that I care about the pairings, I don't ship any characters so it's fine for me. However there was an extreme lack of foreshadowing, buildup etc. you need for such an ending. The ending felt detached from the rest of the series, like some average fanfic.
Kishimoto probably decided on this ending from the very start of the series but it became a not very fitting end for the series Naruto turned out to be.
