Preferably Shounen or Seinen with a male lead. I really just want the main female love interest to be the dominant one and take charge. I would like it to have lots of interesting sexual encounters, but that is not really necessary.

Me too. Akita Shoten . These one´s have has actual writing: Natsu no Zenjitsu 9/10(the anti-Nozoki Ana as i wrote in my review). Explicit. Sekitou Elergy 8/10 realistic drifting through life. The next ones have no "hen". Eventually Angel Densetsu 10/10.
Here something a bit different: The women in All Rounder Meguru(has sex jokes an the athor has history of good sex filled seinen) 10/10 and Dorohedoro 9,5/10 GORE suffer no fools. Both have slow cooking romances. ALL purposefully different.

I'll give these a try, though I think I dabbled in Natsu no Zenjitsu a while ago (maybe?). I also read most of Dorohedoro before, but it seems nothing like this topic despite being an awesome story.

The last two are only subtile romances(let´s wait) where the relationships are background material but the women take charge a lot more then usually seen or expected.
People constantly complain how Dorohedoro is now a relationship soap opera btw(the writer is a young woman). Let´s wait till the same thing happens to the Terra Formars fans. Whatever . My reading list is mainly "awesome storys". Japanese borderline-h is mostly not to my liking. But american "seinen"is. There i can help .
Try the Image comic Sex Criminals. It won awards and would be unprintable in a hentai magazine as is. It´s about time stopping orgasms. Or their other series simply called Sex. Impotent Batman the porno ! Even MORE unprintable in japan.
