Terra ForMars. Not much reader know about this series, but I guarantee the story is really good. The story's development is rather slow though.

I see much quality here so i will give us more unmentioned:
Kidou Senshi Gundam - The Origin 8,5/10 and UC Gundam in general helped give us animes for teens and later adults with Kidou Senshi Z Gundam Define 9/10.

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu the anime series(10/10) is the only thing i will accept as having Berserk level writing in the filed of long form storytelling.
Ultra Heaven 8/10, RideBack 8,5/10. Uchuu Kyoudai 9/10 is "sci-" but maybe not "fi".
Koukaku Kidoutai Arise - Nemuranai Me no Otoko Sleepless Eye 9/10 is as good as the animes and so much better then the original mangas. While we are at it.
Appleseed is his only manga i "liked" but only a 7/10 because it never finished and had no focus.
