Is it just be or have there been a lot more bugs in the big AAA games this year?

To an inacceptable degree ! Multipe Ign podcast had weekly discussion about it.
I bought about 12 games in the last 2 months an the patching orgys we NOT ok.
I bought AC Unity for example 3 weeks late and had to wait 1,5 hours to even be able to play. So planed to read comics instead from the beginning on that day.
Edit: Good god another ACU patch in 2 days ?

It's kinda the way things are going nowadays unfortunately. I'm fine to a certain degree as long as the game is still playable. Unity for instance I was able to complete the game without any major setbacks. Mostly only ran into some graphical anomalies and a few instances of falling through floors.
As long as it isn't as terrible as Batman Arkham Origins was. I lost the save I was playing on because it decided to freeze during a save screen. 20+ hours down the drain. Not to mention most of the game was broken. I never went back to play to see if anything got fixed after I lost my save. Luckily Rocksteady is back at the helm so hopefully Arkham Knight won't be as terrible.

Floors the natural enemy of videogames since the PSX .
But Batman Arkham Origins had the best writing in the series . How is this game rated T again ? The game was also very playable after 3 weeks when i bought it but that is NO way to argue. I love it that AC Victory was leaked when the main entry was still a mess or that i still will by Rogue because it looks nice and the story sounds great.
The industry indoctrinated me good. The problem was us all along.
Edit: I had Lego Batman 3 crash on me today. Lol.

It's how gaming is these days. With the release of internet capable consoles and internet availability across most of the developed world, developers can easily patch games or add fixes later. In the past they were unable to do this so games needed extensive bug testing before it could be released, otherwise the game's reputation would be ruined. There was no feasible way to get a patch out to all the games that were glitched. Now that you can easily patch games, bug testing has become secondary while meeting deadlines has become primary. A company's reputation now rests even more on the promised deadlines they offer (i.e. GTA V online coming out last year to meet their promise despite the ability to do online heists only coming out this year). If there are any problems or even lacking content they promised, they can just add it in later.

It's pretty much one of the reasons why I've been purchasing games a year or two late. That way, they're cheaper, all patched up and have complete editions.
Although...

Remember when you could pop your cartridge into your 'way more powerful than a PC' gaming console?
Those were the days...

Ok things now have gotten worse. The mentioned AC U patch that they promissed a week in advance has now been delayed because of "quality control" as seen here:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/12/15/ubisoft-puts-assassins-c reed-unity-patch-4-on-hold?abthid=548f551e1724c20840000020
It´s not like we are paying money for these games or something .
When Batman and Witcher 3 were delayed (twice) to 2015 i was SO happy.
Shigeru Miyamoto: "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
@Baalzebup Don´t say Duke Nukem. Forever triggers my kill switch.

The latest Duke Nukem says hi.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
One too many falling for the obvious bait. Is a joke, hmmmmkay. Delays are usually a net positive, as they tend to lead to better products.
But yeah, I too was very happy with CDPRs decision to delay the Witcher to give 'em more time to have it right the first time, instead of going all Ubisoft on it.

So, now that this year is almost over with, what games are people looking forward to next year?
Numero Uno, Bloodborne, no question about it.
The kickstarted stuff like Torment: Tides of Numera and Pillars of Eternity are also pinging quite heavy on the radar. Some current gen 3D fighting games would be nice too, so I guess Tekken 7 if the home console edition comes out in 2015.
Oh yeah, DMC 4SE . Been a while since I've played a good character action / spectacle fighter game. DmC was not it. Still pending a Wii U to play Bayonetta 2.
Nothing else comes to mind right now. I'm wholly indifferent to most of the so-called AAA stuff.
Edit: Mentioned below, I can't believe I forgot about these... Xenoblade Chronicles X, Persona 5, No Man’s Sky.

Witcher 3, Batman: Arkham Knight, Assassin's Creed Victory, The Division, the new Zelda for Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Uncharted 4, Persona 5, No Man’s Sky, Mad Max, and Star Wars Battlefront. There will probably be more announcements for games I'm interested in once we get to E3 but these are the ones that jump out as of now.

Doesn't count. DNF would've been great if the original studio hadn't gone bankrupt. But after that, another studio (Gearbox) took over, started over from scratch and rushed the whole thing. That's why it sucked.

Uhhuh.. And you know this how? Did you play they first 2 or 3 versions that came before the one spat out by Gearbox & Co? Or were you perhaps a part of the original dev team? Cuz I'd love to see some insider material back from the day if so.
And really, "why" doesn't matter, because that is just the go-to, easy "exception to the rule" answer when someone quotes that (pretty damn good) piece of wisdom from Miyamoto. The thing is, it just doesn't apply 100% of the time.
Hell, DNF isn't even the biggest joke of that particular flavor. It's pretty safe to say that that particular award goes to John Romero and Daikatana.
