Hi~
I'm looking for a LN with an interesting world, interesting magic or combat system, and compelling characters that act and feel the same way a real person would. Tired of chracters with flat personalities and whatnot.
As to the genre, it can be anything as long as there is action, no slice of life. And no shoujo/josei.
Thanks in advance

Sword Art Online
Baccano
Durarara
Kaze no Stigma (Discontinued, but interesting)
I recommend this site: http://baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Main_Page
Here you will find translations to many light novels. You should check it out and see if you find anything interesting.

First, there are the usual suspects:
- Mushoku Tensai
- SAO
- Log Horizon
- Shakugan on Shana
- Overlord
I've just picked up Moonlight Sculptor and that's pretty good.
I also recommend Daybreak on Hyperion. It's over at http://krytykal.org/daybreak/. It's an original English light novel that's very well written. The magic is smart. It's takes a while to set up and get to the action, but the payoff is completely worth it in my opinion. If you like Eric Flint (military sci-fi/fantasy writef or 1632 and Belisarius) and LN's, this one is perfect.
Nearly forgot Certain Magical Index.

Ok, here we go.
About SAO: I sort of like it. The characters are not realistic enough for me but I have fun reading it.
I've heard of Baccano and Durarara before, but I was never really interested in them. Might as well take another look.
I watched Kaze no Stigma but never read the LN.
Shiroe from Log Horizon is a good MC, kind of what I'm looking for.
I watched Shakugan but never read the LN as well.
And Overlord is on my wish list.
Now, the MC from Mushoku Tensei is the epitome of everything I hate in most japanese manga/Light Novels.
And of course I know Baka-Tsuki, but nothing that's there atm interests me.
Thanks for the recommendations~

Only Sense Online (Novel)
Seconding Daybreak on Hyperion. Both can be found on krytykal's website.

Seconding Only Sense Online (Novel), Overlord (Novel) and The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel)
Ark (Novel) should fit too, though I haven't started reading it
Daybreak on Hyperion sounds interesting too, also maybe you can try
Re:Monster (Novel) and Slime Tensei Monogatari (Novel), which both shares the same interesting combat system
Konjiki no Moji Tsukai (Novel) combat system seems good too, so is the world for Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (Novel)

Oh, I didn't notice that Daybreak recommendation. Will check it out
As for the rest, I've read everything hehe. Thanks!
I personaly love Coiling Dragon. It's a great novel. I also like the same author's other novel "Stellar Transformation", although not as much.

Two good manga based on LNs are Gate: thus the JSDF fought there and Shiro no Koukoku Monogatari. Both are scanlated by Ak scanlations.

Id say try Rakuin no Monshou. The characters aren't as flimsy and the story so far is well fleshed out with no chummy harem ecchi slice of life tags. There is decent amount of action, tons of intrigue, and the romance builds. The MC is probably my favorite of who I've seen so far. Strong, handsome, witty, proactive and a whole bunch of intimidating and the heroine is young so she has a bit of a stubborn personality without being excessively annoying. Well based on what you are looking for it seems like it is a fit lol....except it's on baka tsuki.
