I am looking for manga in which the characters missed opportunities when it comes to love. I cant find a way to describe it more clearly so I am going to give some examples.

1. Two classmates reunited and talk about the old days. One or both realized they were mutually in love but it is too late to change anything now.

2. Girls love boy but it was unrequited. When boy finally falls in love with girl, she has already moved on with someone else. I know many shoujo have similar plot line. However, they are usually told from the girl's perspective.

I would like the stories to be told from the perspective of the one who missed the chance of love. I want to feel the regretful feelings. I tried to look for it among the categories but there was none.

I recently read this manga: Hatsukoi wa Marude Yaiba no You ni https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=70447

The manga did not focus on regretful love but near the end when

The Dogged nice guy confesses to the main girl and she realized she could have dated him instead of getting into this messy marriage
is exactly the kind of situation and feel I am looking for.

P/S not interested in shounen ai/ shoujo ai/ hentai (smut is ok though)

although you said you are not interested in shounen ai, I strongly second Umirozen's recommendation. It's exactly what you're looking for and it's painful because you can't help but think of "what could have been", "if only...". It's utterly frustrating but at the same time you can't help but be glad things worked out okay. Really, it was the first manga that came to mind

Edit: I just remembered Aoharaido but I'm pretty sure it's from the girl's perspective...

Ryuu no Hanawazurai - both perspectives but not entirely focused on it until later on.

Inoribana - Souai Metaphysica(one-shot). Girl's perspective but I highly recommend this.

Well, Hetakoi has exactly this scenario told from the male MC's perspective. Contains ecchi (similar to smut in shoujo) but no explicit content like hentai or borderline H.

Just read this, I totally second this gem. Hard to believe that this is only on 45 complete lists.

Orange (TAKANO ichigo) is filled with regrets and is gorgeous. Warnings for suicide mention though.

Seconding second. laugh

...if this counts... Bokura ga Ita is a whoooole bundle of pain.

With a happy end. Though it takes years.

POVs change throughout the story so you can relate to characters a bit more. Though it can be really annoying and exhausting with all that love, love, love... But really... Once Again and this one, you'll remember for life.

Have you read or watched Byousoku 5 Centimeter by SHINKAI Makoto? It fits your first request perfectly. The anime film's visually beautiful, but I like the manga's narration more.
