Hey,

I'm a translator and pretty bored with slice of life right now. So I'm looking for a shounen/seinen manga to translate with good story, action, drama and (innocent) romance. I'm not looking for a typical battle shounen, but rather something with a mature feel to it (please note that when I say mature, I don't mean ecchi or gore).

What I'm NOT looking for:

- ecchi
- harems
- light-hearted stories
- LN adaptions (ok you can try to convince me otherwise, but I tend to dislike those)

Sorry if this request ended up a little too specific. Anyways, both scanlated and unscanlated manga are fine. If I like it, I will probably translate it too (unless it's being translated already). Thanks!

Tales of legendia is a good shounen/action/romance manga. It might hit your tastes.

Here's an overview on untranslated/ dropped series I put together some time ago. It contains other demographics besides Shounen/ Seinen, too, but all the series listed under untranslated should fit your request:

Interesting but not yet translated

Futari no Renai Shoka - awesome seinen (innocent) romance; woman running a bookstore x highschool student

Natsuzora and Run - very good student x teacher seinen manga that no one is translating

Yakushiji Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo - seriously, it would be great if someone picked it up; it's about sexy detective Ryouko and her competent male subordinate (though he is a few years older than her) solving supernatural cases; there are novels too and those have different stories than the manga

Chikyuu no Houkago borders on harem, but doesn't deliver it; about 4 kids in a post apocalyptic world; unexpectedly cool series from Champion Red (shounen mag that does lots of borderline H)

Sachiare! - non-H manga from a H magazine; short cute romance, but gets slightly erotic towards the end; the group translating it dropped it

Itsuka, Yoake no Sora de Matteru. - if a harem manga can be decent, this is it; this is a seinen romance, that doesn't feel much like harem, but there are in fact 3 love interests, so...

Rudolf Turkey - cool action series in American setting; might be a little ecchi, but the MC is so cool I can forgive the author

Ufu Ufu Fuufu - short seinen romance that is both innocent and not

Otogi no Ori - very nice innocent romance seinen; I think male lead is Chuunibyou and his female friend is a little plump

I'm not entirely sure what you meant by mature series. There is an older seinen student x teacher romance called Itoshi no Eri, but I dare say it's basically a smut manga (definitelly not innocent), so that's probably not what you want.

Vanilla Spider looks interesting, thanks! So let's see if I can find some raws for it...

Hey, thank you. But I wasn't looking for straight romance, rather more an action/story driven series with romantic subplot. I usually translate lots of slice of life romance, so I'm kinda looking for something different now haha
With "mature" I basically meant I don't want something from Shounen Jump, but also not something that defines maturity by adding tons of nudity and gore like Berserk for example. I can't really describe it better, sorry.

So it's seinen or seinen-ish shounen with action and a bit of romance?

From the ones listed above only Rudolf Turkey and Yakushiji Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo will match (Chikyuu no Houkago is too slice of life despite the setting).

Nani mo Nai Kedo Sora wa Aoi is somewhat slice of life, but it takes place in a post apocalyptic world and it's about survival. Romance is more of a subplot so it might fit. Series has some action in it (not all survivors are friendly). All in all it's a pretty good series.

Tsurugi no Joou to Rakuin no Ko might work, but I'm not 100% if it's good or not (it might just be generic LN stuff with more drama). Oh and it's aLN adaptation, so...

Shihou Sekai no Ou but it is a bit ecchi (or maybe not just a bit); should be still worth a try (not 100% sure if it ended or not)

Jaguri might or might not work (the series is not as ecchi as it has sexy female character design); I had the impression that the ending was rushed (but I only skimmed through it, not read it)

Give a try to the GTO's Manga: Shonan Junai Gumi it has some chapters gap need translation, you can check better on the MangaFox thread:

http://mangafox.me/manga/shounan_junai_gumi/

The manga is complete and people like me dream to finish read that since 2006...

It's about Onizuka's, and his friends, early life before became a teacher, when he was the dangerous delinquent in Shonan. Have a lot of action and comedy and also dramatic and love scenes. Give it a shot! We would appreciate this so much ;D

Maybe Ginga Sengoku Gunyuuden Rai. It had an anime adaptation but afaik no official manga translation to english, and despite that, 27 volumes have been published ! No idea why noone ever tried to translate though, maybe too much work involved or no easy access to raws ?

It was a rather cool shounen with some romance, action and a decent story. A bit similar to Outlanders by the same author but less focused on comedy.

I'll also second Yakushiji Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo. I'd love to read more of the manga. The anime was rather good but just too short. But from what I remember the romance was subpar, there was a love interest but nothing ever happened...

I was always interested to see these translated so i promote them sometimes and will but translations in most cases are probably only a matter of time. 5 Seinen + 1 Josei.

Futari no Renai Shoka A calm Romance. Does not fit.
Kento Ankokuden Cestvs. Like Berserk(friend of Miura), Vinland Saga and so on. Does fit and the only one with a first english volume of mine picks. I never understood why none picked it up.
La La La A rom-com. Slice of life-ish(sorry) + romance. Does not fit.
Oi! Ryouma An Azumi(2) tie-in with a direct anime. Jas less violence but turn dark becasue history happens. Does fit.
Ryuu - Ron (Pre)-WW 2 drama. Kinda famouse. Kinda fits. A real beast.
Steve Jobs A direct biograpy adaptation. Real life drama. Does not fit.

I have read all to completion or am caught up. Awesome stuff with or without language skills. True art needs none. I am seeing a lot of very good links btw.
