The last update to this novel was the 168th chapter on 2014年 06月 26日. It doesn't give the usual notification that the story has been taken up by a publisher and that she/he will no longer upload chapters so I'm assuming that the story is just dead. However it was recently picked up by a translator so I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened?

I hope this isn't a case of author abandonment. I myself am guilty of such a thing but to go through that many chapters and then just POOF! It's very odd.
