So I recently read "Shatter Me" by Tahereh Mafi (several times, tbh, as well as the rest of the series and the novellas) and I've fallen in love with the concept of the antagonist being a love interest. I've gone through the "enemies become lovers" tag but that just seems to be like they don't get along but eventually become a thing. No, I want a legit bad guy -- like Loki (ideal), or Sesshomaru, or the king from Kanata Kara, maybe even Lucifer from Akuma na Eros, or even freaking Lord Voldemort -- to fall in love with the main character. I've already read Basara and Ao no Fuuin. (Tbh, at this point, I'd settle on another Kurokawa Dan from Love Luck.)

I prefer shoujo or josei -- NO shounen or seinen please! And no yuri/shoujo ai -- it's not my thing. It's cool if you like it, but I just can't get into it. Yaoi is okay depending on the plot. I also really really really love it when they -- the villain -- gets the girl, but it's cool if they don't as long as the hero isn't an undeserving d-bag.

Complete series are golden, but I'm willing to bend on that stipulation for this type of manga. smile

I don't really know if any manga like this exist, but I didn't think there were any YA books like this until I finished the "Shatter Me" series. I'd love it if you knew of some and let me in on it!!!!! <3

I don't know if you've read it, but Canon has that a bit.

You need some Jewels. (It's complete... you just have to look for it...)

If you're okay with a "romance" novel rec, try the Crimson series by Trisha Baker. It's out of print, but you should be able to find some ebook versions.

Anyways, these guys are really ruthless and kind of evil. Not sure where you draw the douche line.

Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang (Novel) comes to mind though I'm not sure it's quite what you're looking for? It's complete in its original language but not fully scanlated yet. It's also a novel and though it has a manhua it's on hiatus and most likely discontinued. Further, the guy might not be villain-like enough for you. They're definitely enemies though, so maybe it still fits?

This is exactly what you're looking for! A Fairytale for the Demon Lord Although there is a very big twist at the end.

Omg omg omg dude read Superior and Superior Cross, THATS LIKE THE ENTIRE BASIS OF THE STORY. I loved it~. Oh, but it's shounen? I still think you would like it, it's based on romance and the main character is a girl so even though it's written for guys I think it could be considered shoujo too
(Sorry I don't know how to do the linky thing on the manga)

A YA novel is Keturah and Lord Death by Martine Leavitt. I also liked The Hollow Kingdom by Clare B. Dunkle. In both stories, the guy isn't completely *evil* but is still the villain.

Also any Hades and Persephone story should fit. I'm not sure if there are any mangas with that theme.

This thread is a pretty good place to start at: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=43450

I agree about Superior and it's sequel but I feel like its quality went down midway through the the sequel, like the mangaka couldn't figure out how to end it and went the easy way out. Nevertheless, it's really good and the art is absolutely gorgeous!
From the other thread, I really recommend Threads of Time, I'm a huge fan of reincarnation and the plot is so riveting that finished it in a night (pulled a needless all-nighter *sigh*)
Boku no Chikyuu o Mamotte is really good too, the art is old fashion since it's from the late 90's but it certainly did grow on me, did I mention her other series are awesome too? Not to mention the art evolution!
Omae ga Sekai o Kowashitai nara you don't really see it in the beginning but it becomes clear as the story progresses, beware if you don't like open endings (or should I say tragedies?).
Paperweight Eye Yandere male lead, oh how I love them.
Chang Ge Xing Starts off with that kind of premise, but changes later on, romance is very very subtle and isn't the main plot.
Crimson Empire - Circumstances to Serve a Noble based on an otome game
Moon Boy They're on opposing factions, pretty good until my ship sank... nevertheless take my opinion with a grain of salt, it's still a very good read and the manhwaga's other works are good too, like Siesta
Heart to Give Love interest becomes enemy? Wann's series' are awesome.
A lot of works by Han Yu-Rang and HWANG Mi-Ri are like this.
Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - "Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo" "Kotowaru!" Played at light-heartedly, it's by the same author of Log Horizon biggrin
The Boy from the Moon The "villian" in this series isn't really the typical classical villian, and they don't really become lovers, but I guess love interest counts? Series is on hiatus for now, but do check out her other works.

That's all I can think of for now, but there are lots more out there biggrin

I just finished "Superior" and "Superior Cross" and I really liked them! I agree that the quality did go down quite a bit in the sequel and the ending was really bland, but I still would read them again. smile Thank you to everyone for your suggestions! biggrin
