I was wondering if it would be possible to change the way that updates are listed; Although I check B-U almost obsessively every day and even check a day back to make sure I didn't miss anything, there have been a lot of times that I still ended up missing something because it was entered into the system a while after it was released. I was thinking maybe something like all updates are listed under the date they're submitted, and if the actual update date was different then there'd be a star next to the date. Or something.
Thanks for your time ๏◡๏

Do you use the reading list or the custom lists for registering what you're reading? If something is updated it will be shown in you're list with the chapter in red that you haven't read yet in you're reading list. This will also show updates that are added with a later date. And their are indeed some of them that are added some days back. Sometimes we get releases that are over a couple months old. However you will see 95% (my personal estimate) of the releases if you check everyday and a day back. The leftover 5%will pop up in you're reading list. The only problem that you have is with new series that are added sad

Well, I would suggest a listing option that gives everything that is added. So everything in the list is shown on the day their added and not when they're released.

I use the reading list. Problem is how some of the chapters are listed, especially with webtoons, and they change formats a lot. Other times chapters aren't even listed as being released even though they had a release. I actually don't update what chapter I'm at on the site for this reason... also, there are a lot of titles I'm not reading but want to read that I track as well, so that method wouldn't really work... unless I updated it to the last chapter that was released... but I have so many titles... sooo many... orz

Yeah, that'd be a better idea, haha

I'm a bit sleepy, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Are you using your reading list as both your reading and wish list? (Wish list being things you want to read but haven't started yet) I know some people do this ... I personally don't understand why... err back to the point. Using one list for 2 different things?

No. He's saying that he keeps track of many manga that he's not reading yet (for example he might use another list for it), but he isn't able to update every single one to the last chapter released because of sheer numbers. So it happens that some releases are added only after days and he'll never know.

Okay, I must be too sleepy... because what you said and what I said seems to be the same thing ...

A temp solution for whenever they are able to enhance the Releases feature.

Make more lists... I currently have 6? reading lists (Not including my wish lists >.>)
Leave the main things you want to read immediately in your reading list. Make a custom reading list maybe title it secondary reading list. These would be for the manga where you're okay with missing a chapter or two of, but will catch up soon. Maybe even a third reading list for mangas your reading, but want a temporary break from, maybe because you're not into the current arc?
*Note you need to change these custom lists to reading list, thus way the red number can pop up for all the reading lists.

I hope this helps.

Yeah, I'm sure he already does that. This is not the problem he's talking about. It's not you being sleepy, it's me struggling with the English language when details become important in order to explain clearly a matter. Please bear with me XD

He's saying that he doesn't want to miss any releases, even on the manga he's not reading yet. It's useless to check the red number, if you don't remember which was the last release you knew about (and it's easy to forget especially if it's a manga you're not reading). And it's troublesome to check every single manga manually when there are so many of them. He doesn't want to constantly update his wish/reading list, he simply wants to be aware when there's a new release of a manga that he is tracking. If this release enters the database with a few days delay, then he won't notice, unless he actively searches for that specific manga to see if there happened to be new releases.

Ugh, yeah, sorry, I realize what I said is probably confusing. Luckily train93 is here to save the day!! It's exactly as he said -- there are tons of titles I have on my wish list and checking each one daily would probably take a couple hours. And updating all of them to the last release date wouldn't be fool proof either, especially if the chapters released don't correlate to how they're listed, in cases of chapters released as oneshots or a .5 chapter or extra chapters and so forth.

Which is also why even keeping my reading lists up to date doesn't always work either, which is why I'm lazy about it and... don't... ._.;
