I'm looking for a manga where main character enrolls in a Magic/Military/Fighting School, but is already strong, maybe because he was a child soldier, went through heaps of training from youth, or something like that.
Essentially a setup like Mahouka I suppose.
Thanks!

Hagure Yuusha no Kichiku Bigaku Humans get summoned to other worlds to act as heroes, then return with powers. They are enrolled in special academies. The MC is such a returnee and pretty much one the the strongest ones around, period. The series is *very* ecchi thought, so be prepared for that.

Gun x Clover is kind of like that, but it's not that great of a series (the start was mostly ok though)

Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan. Also, Absolute Duo. Not really sure about this one.
Try these tags:
Protagonist Strong from the Start
Magic
Magical Battles

There's this one called Chrome Shelled Regios!! It's really good, well, at least the anime is. I've read the manga, but it must have gotten canceled or people stopped translating it cause it stops at a weird place. It's about this kid who's really strong and enrolls in this one school where you can take either general or military classes and he's enrolled in general classes, but this one girl drags him into military classes somehow. It's super funny~

I second Black Haze (I actually started reading it due to this thread, and absolutely love it)
Also recommend:
Flow - the protagonist discovers his hidden powers, which essentially make him the strongest in his school
Veritas - while the protagonist is strong, the other characters are also pretty strong, so it's about equal
Mx0 - the protagonist is initially seen as the weakest but he has surprising powers
Tenkyuugi - Sephirahnatus - MC enrolls in a magic school and he has the rarest power seen once a century, though sadly this series is not being scanlated currently.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou
Seirei Tsukai no Kenbu and Hundred sort of fit. They're nothing like Mahouka, and the school aspect of them isn't really the main focus at least as far as I've read, but they both involve a protagonist who's already stronger than most people enrolling in a magic/military school.
Apocalypse Alice - While it is technically a school setting, it's pretty much entirely insignificant to the plot, you could remove the school entirely and it wouldn't make a difference to the story. Also, the manga isn't really being translated, just the first two chapters nearly a year ago, but there are 3 volumes of the novel translated.
I'm sure I've read a couple others, but I can't think of them at the moment.
