Does anyone know who the publisher is for this series?

Well! From what I understood (from other sites), it seems like there's a lot of publishers for this.

But I'll start with its prequel, Melancholic Princess -- which is definitely 北方婦女兒童出 版社.

As for Fire King, there seems to be two versions, a 13 volume version and a 14-volume version. The 14-volume version is the "newer" version as apparently some new stuff was added. There are four publishers in total.

13-volume version:
大然文化 (大然文化事業股 份有限公司)
新疆少兒出版社

14-volume version:
狂龍 (狂龍國際) --- seems to be what the scanlators used
吉林文史出版社

EDIT: I have no idea why there are spaces between some of the publishers. Can't get rid of them either. :/

these said publishers ain't listed on the main page of the graphic novel, so I had to ask

and they still aren't, so it's not linking to a main Publisher page, and in turn allowing me to get a website link to get me to the publisher's website

and to be clear, I need the info so I can contact the right people

and honestly...I don't care much for the prequel, which is why I just asked about Fire King

Are these publishers listed on the MU site?

No, none of the publishers are on MU, I'm not sure which publishers are down or out of print by now. They don't specialise in manga or manhua publications either. All I know is that 4 publishers have published Fire King before. Obviously I did some research before replying...how else do you find the unlisted publisher of a manga or manhua?

I only mentioned the publisher of the prequel because that publisher isn't on MU either; they did not publish Fire King, so I added it to avoid confusion. Well sorry, if I added to much unnecessary information there, I just habit of flowering my words.

It truly depends on which version you want by which publisher. I've stated the version scanlators used too. If you want their sites or their contact details, you should be able to find them yourself from their names, as given.

What do the Chinese kanji (if that's what they use) into English letters?

http://www.jlws.com.cn/

The vol.14 search took me to that place...not sure if it is or isn't (would help if I could read it)

Hopefully it's all to one publisher. Normally when a new publisher takes on a new volume, they take the rights to the rest of it, and continue to hold onto it until they go out of business

And thank you for the help, I needed to know the publisher, sort of can't contact them about licensing details without knowing the right publisher...if they even have it

This seems to be the site of 吉林文史出版社 (Jilin Wenshi Chubanshe / Jilin), a publisher of the 14-volume version. Or at least a direct market for the books published by them. It doesn't seem to be on their catalogue (maybe because they're not publishing it anymore?) but they have definitely published Fire King before, therefore it should be okay to contact them about it.

As for the other publisher that did the 14-volume version (狂龍國際 / Kuanglong Guoji / Kunglong), this should be the link: http://www.kung-long.com.tw/

This is true too, but I think in China, classics like Fire King may get reworked (so there are different volumed versions) and for popular series, publishing rights may be given separately to mainland China and Taiwan. That's probably the case here actually: Jilin looks like a mainland Chinese (Simplified Chinese) publisher while Kunglong looks like a Taiwanese (Traditional Chinese) one.

Anyway, you're welcome. Good luck. smile

I hope I can make it happen (working on the planning now), there are classic titles that publishers won't touch unless it has the Black Jack author attached to it

Perhaps I'll look into the prequel as well, but Fire King seems to be more liked of the 2 titles

In Taiwan (traditional Chinese):
1. Da Ran Culture (大然文化), published from 1992 to 1998. This is the original and first tankōbon-format edition, 13 volumes in total. See the covers here: https://imgur.com/a/Y2n6iW8
2. Kung-Long International Publishing (狂龍國際), published from 2001 to 2003. This is the 14-volume new edition. See the covers here: https://imgur.com/a/A9OFQRk

In China (simplified Chinese):
1. The 13-volume version was first published in pirated edition with the same covers, and still printed in traditional Chinese. The publisher is unknown.
2. Xinjiang Juvenile Publishing House (新疆青少年出版社), published by Authority by Kung-Long International, in 2004, 14 volumes with the same covers, but of a lower quality comparing with the Taiwanese version.
3. Jilin Literature and History Press (吉林文史出版社), published by Authority by Kung-Long International, in 2005, 14 volumes. It's commonly known as the "red edition", because red is used as background colour for all the cover images.
