Hi, although i have another topic running looking for manga's this 1 is looking for novel's
what i want is novels in a fantasy setting with magic and fighting and what not...
as for the method of getting to that world, i don't mind if its reincarnation or summoned, so long as it's nothing to stupid

what i want are:
Adventure / Fantasy - adventure through a fantasy world = tops
A decent MC - really sick of 1 dimensional, perverted, no personality MC's (prefer the mc to be male and a badass {OP})
Some Comedy - not so much it becomes a gag, but not so little it becomes too serious
Light Romance - not really needed, but its just something that spices up stories for me
Tranlating - does not need to be fully translated, as long as its actively being done

I DON'T want:
Fluffy - hard to explain, but i dont want it to be all flowers and girly squeals and idiot protagonists that are all "oh they smiled at me... I LOVE YOU!"
Overly Ecchi - some ecchi is fine as long as its not over the top
Preverted MC - they are the worst mc's ever thought of...
Gag
Oneshots - absolutely hate oneshots, especially the ones that leave you wanting more
Dark / Depressing
Psychological / Mind F_ck
Yaoi / Yuri
Josei - i don't mind romance but Josei is a little to much for my tastes
Shounen Ai / Shoujo Ai
Rape
Smut
Gender Bender - this is ok ONLY if not a major part of the story, or only apears in 1 or 2 chapters out of 100

I noticed Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (Novel) is not on your list. Definitely fills your requirements and the story actively builds up his badassery. Some others...

edit: ugh~ the way the author spends 90% of each chapter explaining the world in Hachinan tte, Sore wa Nai Deshou! (Novel) is really annoying >_> takes like 15 + chapters for the plot to develop, then another 10+ for it to develop again

I haven't read much of the manga, only a few chapters at the beginning but I can say that it's pretty close to the novel.

Log Horizon (Novel)
Madan no Ou to Vanadis (Novel) a decent amount of ecchi
No Game No Life (Novel) a great amount of ecchi and "not really" battle, but I'm putting it anyway since it's way better than the rest imho.
Juuni Kokki is a classic, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatte Iru Darou ka (Novel) and manga (and also anime) are pretty much identical so far.

i tried starting No Game No Life (Novel)'s manga version but didn't really like it, so not sure if i'll read the novel

and i am currently watching Log Horizon (Novel)'s anime and Madan no Ou to Vanadis (Novel)'s manga and anime

I just started reading this one:
Magi Craft Meister (Novel)

There's very little fighting in it but it compensates with the focus on crafting with his magic. It's pretty interesting.

There's only 1 volume out translated though. Oh and I agree with you on Hachinan. It's horribly written X(

thanks, im all ready reading World Teacher - Isekaishiki Kyouiku Agent (Novel), and the translations for Souen no Historia (Novel) are pretty much as bad as google translate (probably are since that's all re:trans uses)
also is Purple.Jester also a fan fict like Aevitas?

Nope Purple.Jester is a pure original, while the only fan fict part in Aevitas is the mentioning of The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor as a game in the world in like the 1st chapter... other than that, it's original
