I am currently interested in the manga/novel genre that deals with a main character travelling into a PAST era/time period (not the future). Something semi-realistic or refreshing would be nice, and romance isn't required (though it would be nice!).

(a degree of historical accuracy would be appreciated --- such as not having phones in 23 A.D., etc.)

InuYasha -- Loved this one too!! (but i think this was travelling to another world entirely)

Haruka na Machi e is the only one coming to my mind ... it's not on your complete list but on the meaningful manga list so i guess you'd read it? if not pls do, it has deepth

In fact, I haven't read Haruka na Machi e yet, but many people have told me that it is a great manga--that's why I put it under that list. I was planning on reading it soon, but I think i'll read it now, ha ha!

All of the below have varying degrees of time travel (like distant past or historical past) and are of different genres (aimed at different demographics), these are my personal recommendations

Golden days protagonist warped back to taisho period, subtle shonen-ai
Threads of Time protagonist goes back to feudal period in Korea, personally one of my faves, I finished in one sitting (with some elements of reincarnation)
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi Protagonist relives his childhood to solve a murder mystery
Yukarism - protagonist relives some parts of his past life as an Oiran.
Heptagon Protagonist goes back to her middle school days
Again!! Protagonist relives high school
Ryuurouden Two Japanese students get sent back to time of the 3 kingdoms, I'm currently reading this, it's pretty good if you like 3 kingdoms.
Fushigi na Shounen A godly being jumps from timeline to timeline, we see the effects he causes in each timeline, episodic format.
Slop Mansion ni Okaeri The namesake oneshot is very good, beware if you're not into incest.

i like Ore ga Doutei o Sutetara Shinu Ken ni Tsuite - it is very heart-thumping in the 'ohshitohshitohshit' way.
Apollo no Uta - this is a travel through time heartbreaking love story
Zipang - realistic look if a modern war ship go back in time
