So, if you take a look at the Series Stats page, you can easily see that currently first 10 ranks in all of the lists other than yearly one is conquered by Novels on activity basis. By conquering, I meant, most of the names among them are Novels, only in Yearly one, it's balanced.
It wasn't like this about ½ to 1 year ago. This list was conquered by Manga/Manhwa/Manhua(s).
So, why this sudden rise ?

As I am watching anime for last 17+ years, reading mangas for last 11+ years...Novel/Light Novels are quite new to me. I'm talking about this Japanese, Chinese one...not the western ones like Millennium Trilogy, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, A Song Of I Ice and Fire, The Day Of The Jackal, Hunger Games, Lord of The Ring...etc. etc., as I have read and reading them from way before.

I'm reading Light Novels from about last 2 years. When I started they were not that popular.
I have read many good ones like Mushoku Tensei (Novel), Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (Novel), Baccano! (Novel), Coiling Dragon (Novel), Douluo Dalu (Novel)...etc. etc. And I really enjoy reading them as much as I dowith Manga/Manhwa/Manhua(s)...

So, what do you think think the reason would be ? Maybe like me everyone is finding them them interesting to read. Or it might be because of the increasing number of Novel Translator group or solo translators.
And are you reading something interesting currently ? It doesn't have to be Japanese or Chinese Light Novel.

For starters: Try out Coiling Dragon/Panlong or The Broken Empire (trilogy)(I read it/them few months ago, it's great, Jorg Ancrath's character is Awesome) ~!

P.S. There is no Novel section, so I posted it in Manga General. Though there was Shounen/Seinen...But, well .

There are quite a few reasons why it might be like that. One reason is its much easier to translate a light novel with a machine translator or even with just a dictionary. Secondly it only takes one person to do a LN while manga takes many more people.
I also think that there's less manga series to scanlate out there now compared to the same time last year. Japan is now openly against scanlation and there are some companies like mangabox and crunchyroll that are sending C&D letters to anyone who dares compete with their terrible scans and mangafox/ten manga Ect are stoping licensed titles from appearing. On top of that a lot of the big series are already scanlated or caught up. All of that has lead to less new scanlation groups than the ones closeing. Web novels are much easier to get Raws for and there's much less restrictions on them since most of them are free anyways.

Lastly they're popular for the same reason they're popular in Japan: ease of reading. I can easily read a LN on my phone while manga are much more data and harder to read.
