It's a manga about the protag being a guardian spirit and IIRC the animal is a ram/sheep/goat that guides souls. Also(not sure about this bit) there's a part where the protag's mother died and her spirit stayed or something...
It's jumbled up in my memory but if someone can help I would really appreciate it...

I tried out my research skills and google gave me Wagaya no Oinari-sama. which has elements that fit as the dead mother, the spirit stuff and there is guardian sheep in it too.
I don´t think i found the right one but lets find out.

Hmm... Thanks for researching but it's not Wagaya, I believe it has a darker tone than that. Actually been searching for 3+ years now lol. I just can't find it. :'(

I went to school for research so i ain´t giving up. Could it be Kurenai no Ookami to Ashikase no Hitsuji? Even the 3 year time frame fits (and his bro is Mr.Naruto).

Coelacanth has weird sheep hallucinations and the rather average game Catherine has such a theme too so it isn´t that uncommon. Symbolism 101.

Sorry for the very very late reply, been really busy this past year and I just remembered this thread again.

So far those 2 aren't it. I'm not too sure about this particular part but his/her mother became an evil spirit or something and there's a scene where they went back to his/her house(not sure about this) it's very ambiguous but this specific title has been eluding me for the past 3+ years now.
