There's a way to exclude certain tags during research? Or to search for more than one tag?

Trying with some URL combinations I realized it was possible to search for a genre and a category simultaneously... and that would get me a serie that has a 'shounen' genre and an 'superpowers' category by adding "series.html?genre=shounen&category=super+power s" after Manga Updates URL...

And that helped my research a lot when looking for some titles... Maybe it is something obvious for most of the users here (and maybe I missed a proper topic that already explaind how to use these functionalities)... so I figured that I could ask if someone else know how to go beyond that and exclude bothersome tags that are like to pop up like yaoi and shotacon... or to search for more than one tag like a title that has the 'comedy' and 'shounen' genre or the 'dark past' and 'idiot protagonist' categories...

For that matter I already found that if you search for "category=dark+past&category=idiot+protagonist" the tags will exclude themselves and you will have a list that has or idiot protagonist titles or 'dark past' titles or 'idiot protagonist and dark past' titles... instead of only the titles that have 'idiot protagonist and dark past'

Found too that separation like ';' and ',' will ignore the second tag you enter...

Some other ideas that I could try? Thanks in advance

Boas,

Supposedly, when you make your search here,

https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?act=genresearch

You can do everything you were saying without having to mess with the urls. Tick the red square on the genres you don't want (like yaoi, shotacon, etc...) and the green square on the genres you want.

As for the categories, just make sure the categories you want are in the tag dictionary, and put one per line. If you want to exclude any, put a " - " before and it will exclude it.
Eg. Imagine you want your manga to have a kind male lead and not a dumb female lead. In the categories you'd put:

Kind male lead
-Dumb Female Lead

Should work that way.
When you click "Search" the results will take in account the genres you chose AND the categories as well.

Boa sorte!
