As someone that has read only yuri, I have decied to broaden my horizons. I have had interaction with yaoi every now and then while reading yuri but I think it's time I really got into it. I have read the series Prunus Girl and I liked it a lot, to the point that my criteria will be heavily influenced by it. And by the way, I use yaoi/yuri as blanket terms for any sort of girlxgirl and guyxguy. Just keeps it simple as I don't mind if it's soft or not. Anyway, moving on. I would like...

-High School/College setting. Any sort of school.
-Romantic Comedy. I really don't want too much drama but if it mixes well with comedy, then it's fine. Funny/silly acting characters is great, much like Prunus Girl.
-Trap, though one that fully indentifies as male. Prunus Girl beat around the bush a little on this and I disliked that. Maria from Maria Holic is a good example of what I like. Trap isn't mandatory though, a feminine guy works fine as well.
-"Moe" art. By that, I mean roundish/cute characters instead of a shoujo like style where the characters might be a bit lanky and such.
-Absolutely anything else is fine. Could have smut, could somehow be a harem, I don't really mind. But something that sticks as close as possible to the first 4 works for me.

I have rambled on enough so hopefully I have given a clear view on what I want. I am sorta imposing my tastes from yuri onto yaoi but it was that type that got me interested in the first place so I am going to stick to it. I thank you for taking the time and reading all of this. I hope you can help me get initiated with some great manga.

Hey there !

Welcome to the wonderful world of Yaoi !!

But I'm sorry I could'nt find a manga that fits your requests. Well, school life and comedy are easy to find out, but with the trap thing combined with moe art it's a bit difficult. I'll go for one first and next for the other.

Trap/Transvestite:
- The first that came in mind was Love Stage!!. Although the trap here isn't always cross-dressing, I think it should fit your request. Also it's quite comedic, and the art is quite round as well.
- The last one-shot of Kawaisa Amatte Nanika ga Hyakubai could be to your tastes. I wound't say this is comedy, but I don't think it's sad too. And though the art isn't really moe, it's easy on the eyes. The rest of the manga is also good.
- Udagawachou de Mattete yo. isn't a comedy, and I'm not sure you'll like the art, but it's a story about cross-dressing that struck me so much, I can't not mention it. Just try it.

Moe art:
- All of Yamamoto Kotetsuko's works have a nice art with round faces and well proportionned bodies, and they're almost all comedies. She's quite famous in the yaoi world.
- Also you might like Natsume Isaku's works. They're quite comedic too, and the art should fit your tastes. If you had to read one of her works, I would recommend you Dash!
- You can try Nar Kiss, if the art is moe enough to your liking. It is a great comedy.
- Chintsubu is a really funny and eccentric one. The art should be ok.
- There's also Paradise Baby from Ootsuki Miu that i recommend. It may be not so much comedic as the others, but I love her stories and art. Well, as for the art, it's a bit special but I definitely find it cute.

I hope this will suit you and won't make you run away from yaoi-land. If you ever need more recommendations, don't hesitate to ask me !
Well then, good read !

Since you mentioned that you're looking for trap and moe art, and was interested in GL first, I'm guessing you're looking for girly boys and some ecchi? Here are some that might be to your taste:

Sensei Anone.
Josou Shounen Anthology Comic there are some straight pairings here as well
Himitsu no Akuma-chan and Motto! Himitsu no Akuma-chan
Boku no Geboku ni Nare! This story's quite rushed, it isn't the best.
Reversible!
Sazanami Cherry I can't remember whether the boy actually wanted to be a girl or not.

Maybe genre search for Ecchi+Gender Bender+Shounen ai/Yaoi

Majority of people who look at the yaoi threads are usually girls who generally don't like these kinds of BL, so good luck to that. biggrin

Thank you both for responding. Reading through a few, I found Nar Kiss to be something I really like. Any more like would be fantastic.

I wouldn't say I am particulary into ecchi but I am still open to it as there are a couple that I am enjoying so far but I am open to anything, thank you!

Art styles you might like (plot might not be what you're looking for though):
- Boku wa Kimi no Tori ni Naritai and Kuuchuu Teien, both by the same author. They feature feminine looking male love interests. The latter isn't a school setting, but I'd say give it a shot!
- Check out Watanabe Asia's newer stuff (like the Nibiiro no Hana series) for more feminine, moe-ish guys. She does right about some taboo topics, like incest, just a heads up.
- Harem de Hitori and other works by this author has girly male characters.
- Nise x Koi Boyfriend. Highschool settings, crossdressing, girly male characters, funny. You might like this one!

Romantic Comedies (or quirky stories you might like since you enjoyed Nar Kiss, which I remember really liking):
- I'll second Love Stage!! as well. There's an anime that recently came out if you feel like watching something, and it's actually pretty good for BL standards, haha.
- Sex Pistols is weird, long, and confusing, but it's got an interesting plot, some funny moments, and is a classic.
- Count has a neat plot.
- Kigurumi Planet is weird, I loved it.
- NEKOTA Yonezou's stories are always good and usually highly recommended. Check out Mousou Elektel or Hidoku Shinai de, both with high school settings.
