I finished Hirunaka no Ryuusei a while ago and I'm still feeling traumatized by the ending >_<
How could there be SO MUCH buildup for Shisho x Suzume and then they DON'T END UP TOGETHER! Like seriously, 7 volumes or something! And then 5 of Mamura. I just don't get it.
GAH! I still get a stomachache thinking of Shisho's sad face!
I always complained about manga where the girl ALWAYS ends up with the first guy (usually dark-haired) but now that it didn't happen, I hate the ending!
Anyone else feeling like this?

I felt the same!! It's been a while since I've finished it but as I was reading, I remember feeling that Suzume would definitely end up with Shisho, and then BOOM, she settles for Mamura. The ending totally ruined the whole series for me
Usually when the female lead ends up with the first guy, I'm not so frustrated by it (unless the first guy is complete shit) but I was left completely unsatisfied by HnR although the ending was different from most shoujo manga.
About the hair issue, I've noticed that in most shoujo, the female lead ends up with the guy with opposite colored hair. And I predominantly read shoujo. Or is it just me who thinks that?
