Like about unrequited love, love-that-cannot-be, death of loved one or even death of a dream. Doesn't need to end with tragedy, but it has to have sad ambiance throughout the manga. Like Dokuhime or Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan? Nothing dramatic though. Preferably poetic. Thank you very much smile

Edit: I'm fine with any genre

Heptagon Gentle melancholy about the past
Yeonmo Doomed love melancholy
Hatsu Haru Gentle unrequited love
The Queen's Knight The latter half is heartbreaking.
Zankoku na Kami ga Shihaisuru Shounen Ai. Hurt/Comfort kind of melancholy after the hurt part of the story.

Kuutei Kaiko Toshi
Sad, melancholy, beautiful. Amazing art.

Yasashii Sekai no Tsukurikata
Innocent and hopeful at times, serious at others. Features unrequited and forbidden love and isn't very dramatic.

How should I put it... maybe more than the story itself, I was more put off by a dramatic storytelling? Actually I've read Aozora Kirai no Usotsuki Semiko and that's what I called 'dramatic'. But Hoshi no Koe is totally what I'm looking for so thanks a lot. Looking forward to read the rest of your rec.

hmm okay, strangely I'd call the storytelling in watashitachi dramatic while the one in aozora felt more light-hearted, both were kinda tragic though. weeeeeell anyway, I found the thing I was looking for

I think that Soshite, Hare ni Naru fits. I wouldn't say it's "heartbreaking", but it definitely has a sad ambiance (because of themes like regret, unrequited love, and unexpressed love).
