I'm looking for sport mangas that the protagonists are often defeated (not just losing a couple of matches). Close example is boys on the run but it's more of a drama.

Please help. Thank you.

Does dance sport count? Cause in Ballroom e Youkoso he has lost in all the competitions so far (if I remember correctly).

Ashita no Joe is an immortal 10/10 and i wouldn´t call him a looser but an underdog (the original Rocky if you want). He takes a lot of beatings, spends time in prison and then there is lastly the ending which left a big mark as it is one of the most referenced scenes in the history of the medium.

PS: The plural of manga is also manga.
