The first 2016 issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine (cover shown right) is announcing on Friday that a new anime adaptation project of Kentarou Miura's Berserk manga has been green-lit. NBC Universal will unveil the anime's first promotional video at its winter Comiket booth, which will run from December 29-31. The announcement did not note the format of the anime (TV, film, OAV, etc.).
Miura comments in the magazine that the anime project will depict Guts in his "Black Swordsman" appearance, which is only revealed in parts of the manga that go beyond any previously animated Berserk story, and is only briefly hinted at in the first and last episode of the 1997 television anime series.

Also: Manga to go on hiatus until summer, with series being published irregularly

Edit: The new project´s site: http://berserk-anime.com/
The linked picture has a direct counterpart in the Conviction Arc: Chapter of the Lost Children from Vol.14 Chap. 97/98. The arc named "Black Swordsman" is in Vol. 1-3 but our protagonist is obviously named after it. Vol.1 and half of 2 need a bit of a remake, to be honest. Guts is wearing the wrong armor in the picture for the Conviction time frame. The absymal 3rd film technically ended with him putting on the "right" armor.

The trailer

My ANN annotations: The Berserk community greatly disliked this trailer yet i am reserving further judgment. The promo music is crap but the animation quality and style looks better than the previous 2D/CG monstrosity despite the frame-rate but that´s not why i am here. The scripts need to waterproof and i can´t judge them without watching the new project. They nailed the gore though! Going CG isn´t that bad an idea in itself due to the format´s ability for more fluid motion on a budget and the dynamic camera movement.
Green Lantern, Tron Uprising or Star Wars CW/Rebels look amazing but i became a fan due to the stories been told so we will see. Studio Kuro hm? Off to google!

(I myself, Netflix in this scenario, would have hired Polygon Pictures and would have adapted a rewritten Vol.1-3 with the never animated flashback to Gut´s childhood.
I would then have waited for the international reception to then go on arc by arc.
A truly worthy adaptation is still more than a decade away anyway...
Madhouse or IG would be ideal or maybe even an American studio.)

i think the CGI trailer looks pretty bad
this is exactly what berserk did not need

did miura really like how the movies turned out? or is he just happy that some tv network see potential CM money from this?

for obvious reasons noone is going to back up a project like berserk with that kind of cash
but
the new line of JoJo animated tv shows show how to do this[even if jojo arc4 look like moe moe shit]
how to make a manga from the 80d work today
how to treat the material with love and not just a quick money grabbing scheme

[okok that was not fair since jojo run in jump during the golden years ofcourse jojo have HUGE amount of followers in japan and berserk is just a silly seinen in a rather small magazine]
