Nice comedy, romance, shoujo or josei mangas.

Something like Kyou mo Uchi de Machi Awase will be nice. I just want something refreshing from the typical plot.

I've read A LOT of josei mangas and shoujo mangas so you might have to go out of the loop to find some I have never read before;;;;;
I'll take one-shot recommendations too but I would much prefer a series that was one volume or more.

Mmm.....yup, always tough to make recommendations to someone who's read a lot of a particular genre. Well, I'll try with at least a handful of ones that at least might be a little less mainstream then.......how about Atashi no Banbi, Eensy-Weensy Monster, Gokinjo Monogatari, Half & Half, ........yeah, maybe you haven't read these yet biggrin

Maybe try
Bread & Butter
50 Rules for Teenagers
Haru x Kiyo
Kare wa Diablo!
P to JK
Pochamani
Shikabane Cherry
Sora no Yousei
Wild Wing
Some are less romance-based but they're more or less different from the norm.

Natsume's Book of Friends
Yumekui Kenbun
Legal Drug
Paradise Kiss

Ok, these are not necessarily happy or comedic, but i liked them:
[m]Kobato[/m]
Kiss and Never Cry
Honey Bitter
Kagen no Tsuki

I'll give you completed series so you don't have to suffer dead and/or slow scanlations ^_^

Orange (TAKANO Ichigo)
Ran to Haiiro no Sekai - This is seinen, but it's very Josei-esque and a very enjoyable read.
Ashita no Ou-sama - this is a old, but absolute gold. The female protagonist development is well done (from what I remember)
Hoshi no Koe - Another seinen, but again, it has wonderful character growth and is quite josei.
Rec - Kimi ga Naita Hi - Tragedy, but I remember enjoying it a lot.
Junjou Drop
Gozen 3-ji no Muhouchitai - I remember this one being hilarious and the male lead was really cute (he's different. He's built bigger and has the cutest goatee. A toned-down bear type?)
NG Life - hooo hoo HOOOO This is one of my favorites series ever. It has the right amount of romance, comedy and feels. I highly recommend.
Chou yo Hana yo - I know this is on your reading list, but you should really finish it. It's also one of my favorites and left me laughing forever.
Cat Street
Diamond Life - If you can get over the poorly done scanlations, then this is a really good read.
Nakanmon!
And finally, I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flagsā€¦ (Novel) - Okay, this one maybe a Light Novel (Though it's all translated and is online; all you have to do is google the title) but it is filled with absolute hilarity. My forum icon is from the series. Seriously, if you wanna try reading something in a different format, I recommend giving this one a try. My only regret is reading through it so quickly lmao.

Hope you managed to find some interesting things to read from this list! Sorry there's not a lot of comedy, but I highly recommend these series as they are pretty unique to the Josei/Shoujo demographic. If you want anymore, I'll be glad to deliver ^^

I'm gonna try here. You've probably read most on em' but maybe one of them you haven't

Ai Hime - Ai to Himegoto
Lip Smoke
Delinquent Lesson
Film Girl
Hana ni Arashi (TAKAGI Shigeyoshi)
Watashi ga Motete Dousu n da
Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen

This doesn't really have a light tone but its a interesting read
Fredward-Shi no Ahiru
