I'm reading "Kiss Him, Not Me" & "Kyou Kara Maoh" & I'm really enjoying the satire of traditional harem. At first I was satisfied with Unwanted Harem with No Romantic Resolution, but I need something even more different.

Both Harem & Reverse Harem have Trap characters who never end up being serious contenders.

I'm thinking something along the lines of "Baka to Test" which had a surprising amount of BL fanservice for a regular harem series, but would have liked it more if the MC had chosen the Trap over the girls.

It could be a BL manga where a guy really likes a particular bishounen, but ends up with an unwanted harem of girls that get in his way.

Or maybe the guy is bi or sexually confused & the harem is half girls & half bishounen.

For an extra wild card, a Reverse Harem series where a girl picks the only girl in her harem over all the boys.

I'll also take an all-boys Unwanted Harem comedy where the MC is straight. The only one I've ever seen is from the 70s & called "Sons of Eve."

You might like Silver Diamond, which has all these guys taking care of another guy in a fantasy world. There's a lot of subtext with several guys but it is pretty obvious early on which guy he will end up with.

Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike! has a bit of this kind of thing. It's set in a mostly boys' school and a boys' dorm. There is some hints of other guys liking the main character, but he pretty much has the same love interest for the entire manga. It kind of reminds me of a normal-ish reverse harem like Hana Kimi.

And if you want an unusual take on the harem genre, you could try this short oneshot. (I'm not going to type its really long name). It's about a gay protagonist in a harem of girls.
