The only one I can think of is the adventures of tin tin. I saw the movie but I've never touched one of the comics in my life.

I read quite many. Mostly they are weird little independent Finnish comics though... Corto Maltese, a very popular Italian comic, has been recommended to me again and again by trustworthy sources; I'll have to read it some day. Akku Ankka, or the Finnish version of Donald Duck, actually contains very clever, even literary language at it's best, and is considered good reading for children and foreigners, like me, to develop language skill. Actually, Finland has a great comics scene, but I don't think many of them get translated.
