Maybe you might have heard, but in 2006 Natascha Kampusch escaped from her kidnapper after 8 years of being imprisoned. Austria and the rest of the world was shocked by these news, and remember some people calling the case "House of Horrors".

But just this weekend, Austria [and the world ;P] was shocked again as a similar case hit the newstand... Austrian "House of Horrors".... 2?

But comparing the two cases, it makes Natascha Kampusch's sound puny compared to what Elisabeth Fritzl went through.

Being abused by her father since the age of 11, Elisabeth was drugged and forced into a cellar at the age of 18 by her father where she remained for 24 years until being released just a few days ago. During the 24 years, she gave birth to a total of seven children fathered by... well, her own father. One of the children died soon after birth and the body was burnt by the father.

3 of the children had never seen the light of the day until 2 days ago.

...can you tell I love writing? XD <3

Anyways, here's the full story. ;P I'm sure most of you heard of it already though...

Click

I'm serious... is there any punishment suitable for this man? >_<; The simple thought of INCEST makes me shudder but... UGH.

I can't even begin to imagine. This hit me REALLY hard when I heard. It just shows how we take life for granted and whine and bitch about the smallest things. It takes something as big as this to make us realize just how we really are.

I still can't understand how a whole family can live in a house and not realize there's 4 other people living underground for over 2 decades. =/

I think that during the last 24 hours I heard about it around 6-8 times in the news. For me the incest, isn't what really shocked me. (but that doesn't mean that incest is OK...) HOWEVER the fact, that the woman was imprisoned for 24 years and had to give birth to 7 children, was the real shocker. In the German television called her several times "sex slave" what gave me the chills...
To tell the truth I am not absolutely against incest in real life... Because there will always be cases where it is cruel not to be able to love each other just because you are related by blood... BUT the case in Austria shows our society where the real problems is. Just because somebody is connected by blood, doesnt mean that you have the right to do with this person whatever you want. tough it seems that this is exactly what the accused did. Just because she is his daughter, he played with her life as he wanted.
Anyway, even without the "incest" fact, its a horrible nightmare for the victims. I wish that the children can someday have a good normal life. As for Elisabeth, I can't imagine that she will be able to have a normal life but I also hope that she can make the best of life from now on.

Oh my God. That's really bad news. Kept in a dungeon(?) for 24 years and bore 7 children from her father? Christ, talk about serious incest. I mean this is just wrong. Totally outrageous. >_>;

For some reason, I find this story amusing.

I would say 'Poor Lady' or something like that, as is proper, but I don't feel sorry, so I shan't.

that's just sick. i mean how low can you get. to have 7 kids with your own daughter.
and then when one of them dies to just burn it . that give me the creeps just thinking about it.

The type of incest you're referring to is WAY different than THIS type of incest.

THAT'S what made me shudder, not the thought of incest overall. ;P

I respect the lack of hypocrisy but feel sorry for the lack of care or human compassion. Brings to mind a quote I remember well "Evil prevails when good men do nothing "... isn’t worse when we just do not care?

For me...... Gas Chamber... Lethal Injection... Hanging... Beheading...

No punishment can be harsh enough...

That's why I do not read or watch horror... real life is scary enough... depressing enough... infuriating enough...

Hmm i guess locking one's daughter in a dungeon for 24 years is funny as well as sexually abusing her since the age of 11. Cool buddy cool...

The story is among the most disturbing stuff that I've read recently, but the creepiest part about this is what was going on in that man's head.

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/04/29/austria.cellar .profile/index.html#cnnSTCText

It's the fact that he abused his own daughter and 3 of her children, while being a relatively normal parent to the other three. For Christ's sake, I can't imagine what drove him to keep this up for so long, or how the woman and her three other kids were able to survive.
He managed scarring for life not only his daughter and the children she kept with her, but also her wife and his other three children that will now have to deal with the fact that their grandpa is also their father, and the fact that they'd been so close for years from their relatives and still didn't know or do anything about that.

Good job old man, you managed effing up a grand total of 7 people; 8 including the fried baby and 9 including yourself.

As for the punishment he should receive, I guess he should just be locked in a good ole` sanatorium(sp?) and left there to rot. Preferably in a damp, dungeon-like, filthy asylum.
Death by any quick means is a far too light punishment for this man.

Heaven mirror, I agree with you.

Not only 9 - lots more probably. >__>; Relatives? Friends? Not "scarred" but surely affected too.

My mom and I were discussing this yesterday, and she thought that he should get castrated and left in a windowless cellar for the rest of his life and get a taste of his own medicine. Even though she doesn't believes in the "eye for an eye" saying, as I gladly pointed out, she said there's exceptions for everything and this was the exception to this case. ._.;

Frankly, I agree with her. >_>; Dunno why as far as to castrate him... but hey, that means he won't be able to fap. *gets shot* [Not the correct subject to poke fun at, neh? >__>; I apologize].

Basically, this man should be punished. Locking him up in prison won't be satisfying enough.

my teacher said it has something to do with Austrian law, that he was convicted for rape and I don't think anything else so 15 years only. I hope the girl manages to settle in civil court like O.J Simpson so the dad is essentially screwed for life anyway.

Anyway the guy is 71, by the time he gets out of prison he's gonna be 86. I doubt prison life is gonna be pleasant so he probably won't last much longer if he does live through his sentence.

Nah I'd just shove him into a cell with a huge facist named Hanz who likes penis a little more than usual.
