NOTE: Spoiler warning for Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles

I was personally very surprised to find out that Cardcaptor Sakura had a sequel serialization, especially so many years since the original series ended. On top of that, CLAMP is already currently running two other manga series, the sequels to TRC and xxxHolic respectively. We know that TRC and xxxHolic, both originals and sequels, are closely tied to together.

Which made me think - what if rather than being just a simple continuation to the original series, this new CCS series is connected to them as well?

We do know that an older version of Sakura Kinomoto appeared briefly in Tsubasa:

She meets Sakura Li (clone Sakura / Tsubasa's mother) in a dream, and gives her the star wand, saying that she'll be alright even with the staff as the cards will still be by her side. (TRC chapter 224) Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far Sakura's activation of the Sakura Cards requires the use of her star wand, or at least there has been no reason for her to not use the wand. So what happened to show her that she doesn't actually need it anymore? This new series might give us the answer to that.

In Sakura Li's dream, Sakura K is wearing the Tomoeda Middle School uniform, meaning that the incident likely occurs sometime within the next 3 years (the local high school has a different uniform). She looks a few years older than she does in the Clear Card series (taller and more mature), but that may be partially due to the difference in art styles between CCS and Tsubasa.

Also the mystery of the clear cards and the new wand, one of the things being emphasized is that the mystery person in Sakura's dreams is very like her (Sakura noted they were the same height), and that there is no magic involved beyond Sakura's own. What might this mean? One of TRC's key concepts comes to mind - alternate selves in the multiverse. What if this mystery person is an alternate Sakura from a different dimension?

Something else to consider is the wording of Sakura K and Sakura Li's conversation in Tsubasa - when giving Sakura Li the star ward, Sakura K says "Take this. This is a very precious thing to you, isn't it?"
Not 'this will help you' or 'this is precious to me', but 'this is precious to you', which is strange considering Sakura K is talking about her own star wand.
(Admittedly, this might possibly be a translation issue, as I took this reading from the English scanlations, but if it isn't, I wonder if this particular choice of words is significant.)

More on the Clear Card Arc:

Eriol, Syaoran and weirdly Touya seem to have an idea of what's going on. Out of the three Touya is definitely the most unexpected one. Eriol is Eriol and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he has contact with Yuuko on the side; and Syaoran seems to be being kept in the loop by Eriol. Touya might have heard from Eriol too, maybe through Mizuki-sensei, but there is an alternative here too - contact with the alternate Touyas (either Clow Country King Touya or Sakura Li's brother Touya).

(This part is admittedly a bit more far-fetched, as none of the versions of Touya have been shown to have strong magic power, making inter-dimensional contact less likely, but it's a possibility I just wanted to put out)

TL;DR
In the chapters so far we haven't actually seen any concrete links to TRC or xxxHolic, but I'm personally hoping that this is the direction the mangaka are going towards, because I'd love to see more information on how the CCS dimension ties in with the TRC/xxxHolic multiverse and time-loop.

I thought this as well actually!! (someday I'll read TRC again because it gets so confusing and timey whimey near the end).
