Before you suggest it, I'm aware that there are other posts on this topic, but they are dead. Please don't redirect me to them.

I'm looking for some new horror manga (or anime, I don't discriminate). I've both read and watched quite a few titles in the horror genre, and I'm looking for something I haven't seen before. I'll provide a list of the manga and anime I've ALREADY or am CURRENTLY read/watched below, as well as a couple of titles that I wasn't a fan of.

PLEASE READ BEFORE SUGGESTING TITLES!!! eyes

Manga:
Ibitsu
Uzumaki
Deadman Wonderland
Metronome
Attack on Titan
Dragon Head
Kouishou Radio
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia
Usotsuki Mi-kun to Kowareta Ma-chan - Totteoki no Uso
7 Seeds
Oyasumi Punpun
Pupa
Tomie
Koutetsujou no Kabaneri
Akame ga Kill!
Death Note
Mirai Nikki
Jisatsu Circle

Anime:
Shiki
Another
Attack on Titan
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia
Death Note
Koutetsujou no Kabaneri
Mirai Nikki
Elfen Lied
The FULL Higurashi no Naku Koro series
Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (Parasyte)
Ajin
Diabolik Lovers (I HATED THIS ONE)
Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror
Yami Shibai

Titles not available on mangaupdates:
Risou no Kareshi-tachi
The Enigma of Amigara Fault
Gyo

I'd prefer that horror isn't too much of a subgenre, and that the charactersart/etc. be enjoyable, or redeemable.

Thanks in advance!!

The artstyles might be hit or miss depending on your taste but these are ones I enjoy for their story.
-Misu Misou: Very Dark and Gory dead
-Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service: The manga is complete in japan but the official english published version only has about 14 volumes worth of content. I'd still highly recommend it though. biggrin
-6000: The Ocean depths is one scary place. no
-Nemuri no Fuchi
-Emerging: A very deadly and contagious disease horror story that doesn't involve zombies. biggrin

Another
Baroque - Ketsuraku no Paradigm
Bokurano
Dawn - Tsumetai Te
Fukushuu Kyoushitsu
Franken Fran
Kami-sama, Ki-sama o Koroshitai.
Kimi Shi ni Tamou Koto Nakare
Konya wa Tsuki ga Kirei Desu ga, Toriaezu Shine
Mononoke Soushi
Okitenemuru
Rengoku Deadroll
Shibito no Koe o Kiku ga Yoi
Skyhigh
Tatoe Hai ni Natte mo
Toukei Ibun
Variante
The Voynich Hotel
Yuureitou

Some of these are very "horror-lite". Meaning: there's a lot of blood/gore and horrific premises, but nothing really, well, scary, y'know?

Shimizu Aki's adaptations of Kyougoku Natsuhiko's Kyougokudou series are pretty good too. I recommend starting with Ubume no Natsu.

You should also try the When They Cry series (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Onikakushi Hen and Umineko no Naku Koro ni Episode 1 - Legend of the Golden Witch) if you haven't already. They're basically staples of the anime/manga horror genre now.

Whoops, you're right! Not sure how I missed it. confused

Somehow I've never even heard of him... I'm really excited to go through his works! Any recommendations?

I'll check out your other suggestions as well but I think I'll start with Umezu's works. Thanks again! biggrin

@Nekonyan45
Thanks! biggrin The art styles look fine to me, I'm generally not too picky. I'll definitely start with Kurosagi, sounds really interesting. Thank you! eyes
