Attack on Titan

Warner Bros. is negotiating to get the feature rights for the Japanese manga IP Attack on Titan, which was written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama and has been churned out for both TV and films in Japan. The project is for its Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them producer David Heyman.
The story follows humans living behind a wall through generations to keep themselves safe from the alien Titans. However, curious as to what is beyond the wall, they form a scouting mission. It is not long before they find themselves battling the Titans as they try to save humanity once again.
The feature would be a remake of the Japanese film that was done in two parts. In 2015, Part 1 ended up as the seventh-highest-grossing locally produced film. Part II did not do as well.
Clearly, the studio is hoping to develop yet another property out of the anime world following that of Akira. Attack on Titan has spawned not only a feature and TV series but animation and video games.

Cautiously excited. I want Attack on Titan to get a proper movie. It's a great story that unfortunately the Japanese movie destroyed.

Warner Bros might pull that manga/anime off in live action movie format but they have to put a lot of effort in looking for people that actually look the part like how Richard Attenborough did for Gandhi. Question now is there a director/producer that puts that much effort to make a masterpiece today. From what I seen so far majority cut corners and concentrate more on quick bucks. For example in the DC movies Superman Returns actor actually looked like Superman but in Man of Steel he was replaced with another actor who really didn't look that part possibly because he worked out cheaper. In Batman vs Superman neither of the actors look the part. Ben Affleck doesn't look like Batman and Superman guy doesn't look like Superman in fact he looked worse then when he was in Man of Steel as Superman.

I have read at least 5000 issues published by DC and Cavil-man + Batfleck look like the Post-Crisis (1986) versions of these characters like never before. They are further the most source accurate life action version to date. Superman Returns also didn´t quite break into the red while it was in the cinema, nor was Brandon Routh an established actor.
He could have been a good Superman but he got poor direction and the whole film is a frustrating bore. Man of Steel though spawned a cinematic universe that made $762.3 mil per film to date. The number for the MCU -the most successfully film series of all time- is $778.2. WB hit a gold mine with the Snyder-verse, not that any of the industry sites would ever acknowledge that. WB is thus putting money in the DCEU films like never before.
They aren´t a cheap studio and have been around for over a century but back to the story:

Deadline Hollywood reported on Tuesday that Warner Bros. is in negotiations to get the film rights to the Attack on Titan franchise. A public relations representative of publisher Kodansha said on Wednesday that "Deadline's report is incorrect."
The representative noted, "There are many works where negotiations are advancing for film adaptations. I cannot comment on what is within contract negotiations."
