The wraparound jacket band on manga artist Yukiru Sugisaki's ninth 1001 Knights manga volume is revealing on Wednesday that the volume will build up to the point right before the story's "climax." The word "climax" written in phonetic katakana often indicates a manga series' final chapter.

Sugisaki launched the manga in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Asuka magazine in 2012. Comic Walker published the manga's first chapter in English in 2014.

The Arabian Nights-inspired tale centers around two twins, Naito and Yuta, who travel to Dubai in search of their missing father. They encounter a peddler and before they know it, they awaken in the world of One Thousand and One Nights.

Asuka also serialized Sugisaki's D.N.Angel manga series, which Tokyopop published in North America until the company ceased publishing in 2011. Viz Media licensed the series for digital release in 2014. Xebec studio adapted D.N.Angel into a television anime series in 2003, and A.D. Vision and Discotek Media released the anime for North America. Sugisaki's Lagoon Engine manga was also published by Asuka magazine and Tokyopop, and its spinoff, Lagoon Engine Einsatz, ran in A.D. Vision's Newtype USA magazine.
