Yoshimori and Tokine should just get married! That way, the two houses will be joined together and there will only be one legitimate successor in future generations.

Now if only those two dinosaurs would stop being so stubborn and give those two their blessing, this whole problem could be put to rest!

Considering the relationship status between the main characters , they're a long way from anything even remotely close to marriage.

A long way from anything? What are you talking about? They already act like a fed-up married couple! biggrin

Besides, I didn't mean "get married immediately". They're still in high school for pete's sake. I meant eventually, say five or ten years, which is plenty of time for their relationship to develop.

It's such a useless feud between the two houses. The grandparents of both Tokine and Yoshimori are just stubborn and refuse to cooperate for some stupid cause 500 years ago. Even if there was some significant event that causes the seperation of the two families it was 500 years ago for pete sake.

Tokine also seems affected by this stupid feud too.

I'm sure Tokine thinks it's stupid as well. Neither she nor Yoshimori know how this feud started but it has nonetheless kept them separated throughout their entire childhood. But despite this, she goes and makes friends with Yoshimori anyways so one would assume this "feud" isn't affecting her too much.

And she's at least willing to work together with Yoshimori, whereas the two grandparents can't even stand being within 5 feet of one another.

i think the grandparents were in the same spot as they the two young ones are now, but something may have happened that they could not be together and had to stay separate..

Agreed, the flashbacks of the grandparents makes it seem like they once had the same relationship as Tokine and Yoshimori. I do hope they get together though.

Well, reading up to the newest chapter that's been translated (180), they're slowly getting closer as one would expect in this type of manga anyways.

Now that Yoshimori is starting to be more serious and less irresponsible, Tokine is coming around to the idea that he's not just a little brat anymore.

What GP said above is true , at this point(chapter 180),
Tokine has started questioning what Yoshimori means to her.
From my point of view the feud is already over, its just a bunch of arguing old neighbours now.

I think they're getting closer in more of a brother-sister/companion relationship. As in caring for each other, trusting each other, sacrificing for each other, but having no actual attraction for each other. And the only time Tokine seems to want to talk to him is when it's work-related. Otherwise she keeps her thoughts to herself.

So...I don't know, doesn't seems like they're getting married anytime soon.

I agree that their relationship is not quite there yet. But if something big is going to happen to Yoshimori (if the prophecy in 175 is true), I bet it would trigger Tokine to realize just how much Yoshimori meant to her.
