I agree, Ariel Lin really isn't cut out to be Kyoko. Judging by her past roles, she's been too much of the stupid, typical main character to be able to play Kyoko ; I can't see her playing Kyoko. Kyoko is on a whole different level.

But since it's been postponed, we'll have to wait and see.

Hmmm.

personally, i think Ariel Lin's an okay actress. She was pretty cute in It Started With a Kiss and kickass in Tokyo Juliet(both of which were mangas first).

But she isn't the actress i would have picked to portray Kyoko. Actually, i wouldn't have made a taiwanese drama of Skip Beat at all; i would have picked some jap actors instead.

..no offense to the fans but I'm not looking forward to it..

I generally dont watch Taiwanese drama eversince I watched Taiwan's version of Meteor garden (Hana yori dango) and Devil beside me (Akuma de Sourou)...horrible casts and adaptation..

I prefer if it's dramatised by the japanese..

Meteor Garden was good, season anyways. Season two was crap. D:

I feel like I will like this drama but it'll suck if I end up hating it so I'm trying not to think about it for now. biggrin

Well, I have to admit that the taiwanese ver follows closely to the original plot in the manga (i have to respect that) but I just feel that it's not casted properly and that some are just overdramatised.. I dunno, i just dont like it.

loads of hot bishies but it's just not as "UMPH" as the J-drama version. and I'm so glad I didnt watch Season two, my friend told me it was crap too XDDD

Haven't heard anything about progress of a Skip Beat drama lately, BUT the drama I'm watching now has a bit that seems just a little bit familiar...chicken suit, anyone!?! laugh

The drama is "Fated to Love You" and the story line is totally different, however....the girl ends up in a chicken suit without the guy knowing who she is, he talks to her more openly than usual, etc. etc. but he does end up figuring out who she is. During one of the NG bits at the end of the episode the actress says something about, "how did the writers ever come up with something like a chicken suit?" Wonder if they were also writers for the planned Skip Beat drama, maybe?

FINALLY! I've been hoping there'd be a drama of it, but I was thinking in terms of a J-Drama. Anyways I liked her acting in ISWAK, so heres to hoping her preformance as Kyoko is just as good. biggrin

@Hermit-chan: Devil Beside You wasn't bad. I actually enjoyed it, the ending didnt end as crappily as taiwanese Hana Kimi.
@TofuQueen: Fated to Love You is AWESOMEE (: good drama, it's a reccomended. LOL with the chicken suit thing, good theory its a possibility. laugh

Ok... Honestly? I think that taiwanese dramas are... well... retarded.
But still there are some I liked. And I have to say that Ariel Lin is the only taiwanese actress I find a good one.
And you guys seem to forget about her role in Love Contract.
Ok, maybe she didn't play there as dark character as Kyoko... But she wasn't all that happy and cheerful character either (as someone previously said).

To tell the truth... I'm also unable to imagine her as Kyoko.
But I don't think that any other taiwanese actress is EVER going to be closer to Kyoko.. than her.

Cause no offence, but other like Rainie or Angela (or whatever) are just simply FAKE and PLASTIC

I'm going to try to watch it. I watched most of the Japanese Hana-Kimi and I thought it was pretty okay even though they changed the girl's obsession into guilt (I thought it was better) but then I read and saw what they did in the Twainese version and went none Fat? Is that even a chick? dead Yeah, so I'm pretty scared sad but I will try to watch it and hopefully the Japanese will decide to make their own and save us from the foreseen horror.

The mangaka doesn't necessarily have any say in whether/how their work is adapted into a Taiwanese drama. There are notes in Crimson Hero about how shocked the mangaka was to find out that there was a Taiwanese drama version of Akuma de Sourou (the drama's called Devil Beside You, btw) so apparently they didn't even ask for permission, never mind get her approval for changes. no
