been a while since i last made a looking for post so i don't mind if any of the recommendations are already on any of my lists, anyways here's what i'm looking for:
i'm looking for manga that are similar to Kimi ni Todoke and Horimiya, what i like about both of these is that they portray the growth of both the male and female MC's with their daily lives and relationship(s), i also like that they are both straightforward romances with little to no love triangles and no harem elements, yet still manage to make you love the series with other types of drama and are also both pretty funny at times i also like that in both the main pair get together relatively early on in the series.

so here's basically what i'm looking for:
straightfoward romance, character growth, no love triangle or harem, decent comedy.
i do not mind if it's shoujo or shounen style

edit: here are a few preferences i forgot to mention:
High school - university aged MC's (between 15-20 yrs old), not a large age gap (2-3 yrs is fine), a non-taboo relationship (e.g. teacher x student)
with the no love triangles, i suppose they are ok, as long as its either resolved quickly or its pretty obvious that the main pair aren't gunna break over it

edit2: i have decided to accept Harem romances if they are similar to Umi no Misaki with a proper harem ending and all those involved agree to it

A decent MC - not a wimp/pervert male mc, not a completely airheaded female mc
Comedy - not so much it becomes a gag, but not so little it becomes too serious
Romance - Harem and love triange are ok if they follow whats explained above about them
Tranlating - does not need to be fully translated, as long as its actively being done

I DON'T want:
Netorare
Preverted MC - they are the worst mc's ever thought of...
Gag
Oneshots - absolutely hate oneshots, especially the ones that leave you wanting more
Dark / Depressing
Psychological / Mind F_ck
Yaoi / Yuri
Josei - i really don't like tho Josei art style
Shounen Ai / Shoujo Ai
Rape
Smut
Gender Bender
Gore - this is ok if its not too overly descriptive. e.g. "I cut open his gut and blood sprayed" is ok, but "I cut open his gut and his intestines and other vital organs fell out and splattered the ground" is not

Hum looking for a romance manga without any love triangle is gonna be hard
For the moment I can think of Wotaku ni koi wa muzukashii and why not Kaguya-sama wa kokurasetai - tensai-tachi no renai zunousen (they love each other but they don't want to be the first one to confess ^^ the comedy is gold btw !!).
There's also Otoyomegatari and maybe Koe no Katachi.
You should also try Tomo-chan wa onnanoko!.

Hope one of these will satisfy you !!

@nausicaa70 - thanks, i'll give them a look, except maybe Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! as i can't really get into romance when its below high school age (mostly due to my own age)
i'm also a little iffy on Koe no Katachi simply because of the premise behind it (really don't like bully characters, even after they "reform" themselves) but i will deffinately check out the others

Ah don't worry ! Even if there are kids on the cover, the characters are highschool students ^^ (they're childhood friends actually). The comedy is really good here and all the characters are endearing so don't hesitate to give it a go ! And there's actual characters' growth (which is really rare for a 4-koma) !!

If I have other ideas I'll tell you

Try LAST GAME it fits what you are looking for.
Hibi Chouchou also shows how the characters develop into their relationships. The story is slow but it's good

You might also want to try oboreru knife too... it doesn't exactly fit your descriptions coz it's a psychological manga but it's not the mind f*ck type of psychological manga. It's more on the soft angsty side. Oboreru knife shows far greater character development than the two I recommended.

@hirukayuki01 - thanks, i started reading both Last Game and Hibi Chouchou a long time ago, but stopped part way through both, can't remember if it was cause of lack of releases or something else, but i'll re-read them anyways

as for Oboreru Knife, i read the 1st 5 chapters, but couldn't really get into it (i always read the first 5 chapters to decide if i'm gunna like a manga or not, sometimes more sometimes less though)

Also i've decided to change No harem recommendations to they're ok if there like Umi no Misaki where it is a proper harem ending and all those involved actually agree to it

You could try Love Roma - the art put me off at first, but it grew on me.

It was such a one-sided love triangle too. To the point where I wouldn't even consider it a love triangle.

Kojou loved Yanagi and never had any sort of feelings like that for Souma.

i'll give it another try, but no promises
