The schedule (the usual source is down right now)
It´s hardly exciting but we have a guaranteed winner and the ultra random Vatican anime has a chance to be interesting. I guess.

Ballroom e Youkoso will most likely be the best show of the year but it will need a high animation budget to work. IG should have that covered and I frankly still can´t believe that such a truly artistic gem is getting adapted (only 12 eps. for now but who knows) and not the ultra-generic dancing manga Jump was putting out. A miracle might have occurred. This is a Shounen manga adaptation btw. but it´s the demographic i was expecting the least when I blindly picked it up.

The Reflection The 94 years old Stan Lee has obviously nothing to do with the anime, or anything POW! Entertainment puts his name on, but i love my superheros and the directing genius behind Mushishi is playing second fiddle here. Who knows if the scripts will be good but DEEN may be on the rebound after Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu.

Lupin the IIIrd: Chikemuri no Ishikawa Goemon is final getting a home release and Gundam Thunderbolt is chugging along nicely.
Eureka Seven is also getting a Gundam movie trilogy style cinematic remix. It like the first show and dislike the "pseudo sequel" but who asked for this? Last month´s Resident Evil: Vendetta turned out to be pretty fun, despite the brain-dead and off-canon script. A gem by video game adaptation standards and the best RE film to date. Whatever that means.

I'm shocked, this season I'm actually seeing a couple/few I've got (at least some) interest in.......heck, looking a little further and I'm up to an actual handful........now if I can just find time to watch any of 'em biggrin

Thanks for the heads-up smile

This is a good summer season I am looking forward to. smile

The Vatican anime is female-oriented (though the art style is a bit old-schooled). I doubt you will enjoy it.

My highly anticipated list:
Katsugeki! Tōken Ranbu (of course!)
Jigoku Shōjo
Altair: A Record of Battles
Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun
Yōkai Apāto no Yūga na Nichijō
DIVE!!
Love and Lies
Nana Maru San Batsu
Netsuzou Trap
Hitorijime My Hero
Kaito × Ansa
Beast Inside the Skirt

"Will probably watch later or when I have time" list:
Vatican Miracle Examiner
Fate/Apocrypha

As always, adaptations of things I would have never expected, and not in a good way. I don't know why I still get surprised.

I am a bit surprised that I enjoyed quite a few romance titles this season. I am usually not a fan of most romance anime. I never thought I would like Tsurezure Children but I did. I will also keep watching Love and Lies unless it really bores me.

Aoyama-kun will be my comedy of the season.

The Reflection is still over a week away, LOVE and LIES has a solid pilot / setting but it will soon loose all purpose and Altair: A Record of Battles is perfectly fine yet that ain´t cutting it in the end. Castlevania - 8,5/10 lastly isn´t an anime, so the show of the season / year has to go to the expected winner.

Welcome to the Ballroom isn´t firing on all cylinder yet, as it´s a direct manga adaptation, but that will happen soon enough. The most important thing for now is that it looks great, as the setting lives and dies on the quality of animation and direction. IG only needs to continue sticking to the manga, unlike what they did to Atom: The Beginning last season, and i´ll remain perfectly happy. - 8/10 and soon a 9/10

Not much of a season with only 1 worthy show (so far), not even an original, but it will last me till the end of the year. The continuing Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul further jumped the shark big time so i have no other anime on my plate right now.
BoJack Horseman, Justice League Action, Rick and Morty and Teen Titans Go! will keep me company in the meantime. Batman and Harley Quinn lastly comes out next month and will return to the TAS canon.
