Quote from iluvmuzic uummm...i'm a classical musician too, and just recentyl started listening to stuff that's not classical. i really like the bond girls(quartet), vanessa mae and Escala. bond duel is my fav. vanessa mae's remix of tartini's devil's trill is also awesome. I love instrumental classical music. And guitarist stuff like Steve Vai and Buckethead. Another band is Slagsmålsklubben. They're a swedish electronical band. I never really listen to lyrics so the only good thing about music with vocals in it would be the emotional possibilities.
Here is a Steve Vai instrumental that I like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AVXax5AXOA

mm instrumental or classical music i would seriously recommend are: Beethoven piano sonata no.14/8 violin sonanta no.5 All apocalyptica songs [pretty awesome band] with cellos. Vanessa Mae her songs are cool and has their own beat Pachebell, and other singles that are really hard to find but i luckily found XDSad romance by Thao Nguyen Xanh Song from a secret garden and others..

Quote from evil_goddess_eris That shit if freaking great stuff. At first I was like 'what the hell with this boomy ass piano', but then the bass hit, and I thought awesome. Very avante garde in the vain of Cannonball Adderly.

I couldn't list particulars (that would take too long!) But jazz music is purely made of win. One though is Blue and Sentimental; not a very complicated or exciting piece, exactly, but played well it just sounds great.
I love live jazz improv the best, so often that has no title at all...
As for other instrumental, I like classical composers like Mozart, and soundtrack movie music by Danny Elfman.
