According to Claymore's series info page, the anime diverges from the manga at volume 11. From my memory, you should start reading at the fight between the Claymores and Rigaldo.

Sorry, seeing as how there is already a an "anime" topic, I want to ask if the manga is different from the anime? Because if it isn't I don't think I'll ever read Claymore. I found the anime kinda boring imho (please don't bite my head off Claymore fans).

It was boring actually, i didnt quite feel like the anime was close to the manga in the way it was delivered and the anime changes drastically in the north fight around Ricardo or whatever the guy was named

actually up until the end of the War in the North the anime is pretty loyal to the manga, but then changes drastically after the fight with Rigardo

which is around chapter 26 of the manga i believe

apparently the produces of the anime wanted to rush the ending b/c they weren't planning a 2nd season

Thats truly sad sad atleast make a chance for another season instead of just writing it off like that embarrassed was a real buzz kill

agreed, u can tell where they stop following the manga storyline in the anime too, b/c the plot and artwork take a sharp dive roll

wikipedia:
Madhouse produced a twenty-six episode anime series based on the manga series.
Directed byHiroyuki Tanaka
Written byYasuko Kobayashi
, the series aired between April 2007 and September 2007 in Japan on Nippon Television. The series adapts the first eleven volumes of its source material over the first 24 episodes, then uses an alternate ending for its final two episodes.

anime is now available for streaming on youtube
