Does anyone know a hobo manga? It seems like an interesting concept.

Hmm, I've never heard of anything like this. There are probably some hobos, but I think the focus of the manga quickly moves away from the topic.

Homunculus?
Sort of? It doesn't revolve around it or anything, but...
I agree with kaerfehtdeelb and xOmbiecOrp, though, interesting concept. I'll keep an eye on this one.

Homunculus is the closest one i had read, i think, but the focus isn't the hobos...

What the hell is Homunculus about? I didn't really glean much from the summary

Yeah, neither did I, so I just read it.
Umm, how to sum it up... basically, we're introduced to the main character, who lives in his car. He's approached by someone who offers to pay him a decent sum of money if he participates in a research experiment... one that deals with - you guessed it! - trepanation and the supernatural experiences that it may inspire. It's about what he sees after that.
Which is as good as it gets from me, explanation-wise.

'homeless' and 'hobo' are not the same thing.

If you're looking for a manga about a homeless man who lives on a train, I don't think the Japanese would write about that kind of thing; it's mainly part of American culture. In fact, I doubt there is any manga about trains that doesn't involve molestation.

I think that dirt poor and living under a newspaper, in a box, or simply wandering from town to town living off the kindness of others can all earn you hobo status, though, and one of those may be a possibility.

Exactly.
Not that there can't be manga about a man who rides the rails. There is a manga about delta blues, isn't there?

Well, if you define hobo as someone homeless who travels around looking for work... I guess Letter Bee sort of fits?
Actually, there are quite alot of mangas about wanderers... but I guess a wanderer isn't exactly a hobo... Now I'm rather confused

... Close enough.
I guess a slice of life drama/comedy would work for a hobo manga. It seems like an interesting enough concept.

Well seeing as how manga is not overflowing with the hobo genre, is it a really important distinction?
