I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a manga that has romantic tension, where there are two characters who like each other, but are not together for whatever reason.

A few scenarios to give you an example of what I mean are when:
a) two main characters are extremely tense around each other. (i.e. avoiding eye contact, gazes etc)
b) two characters avoid the issue altogether (as in,act normal) but nevertheless remain tense.

A few stories like this are Tramps like Us, where there is the issue of romance but it is avoided by two main characters (who live in a "master/ pet" type manner). Another example would be unbalance x unbalance (the only ecchi manga that I've actually ever liked): where there is tension between the two main characters (student/ teacher relationsip), although it is mostly avoided by one side of the party.

It would also be great if the stories contain romances that take time to develop, as with the two up above. Although the mangas are nothing like each other smile .

Hope my crappy explanation makes sense and thanks for any suggestions.

Not sure about this but maybe you should check out Kimagure Orange Road. It's kinda old though.

Lament of the Lamb
I"s
D-ASH
Ichigo %100
These are all seinen/shonen btw
I"s and Ichigo 100% are ecchi.
D-ASH has minorly pornographic moments, but little ecchi/hetai content
Lament of the Lamb has sugested incest, but its so beautiful and sad....
