Hi all! I desperately need something to read and sci fi seems like it could be interesting. It has to have amazing visuals, expansive settings and some good ol' fashion sci fi action! I know I'm picky but I want something really good! Help me out! Please?

Planetes --> Highly recommended.
Blame! --> I didn't like it, but based on the series comments I seem to be one of the few who didn't. It may float your boat.
Eden --> can be fairly brutal at times, but pretty good overall.

Go find some of the old manga like Dominion Tank Police, Black Magic or Cowboy Bebop. After those other more serious ones well Cowboy Bebop or Trigun Maximum aren't that but some are a good read.
Just sci fi in general in manga is better as an ecchi back drop like To Love-Ru. This one is a fun read when her inventions go wrong.
