I search manga with this preferences:

Must Be:
- Emotional
- Sad
- Romance
- Complete
- In English

Must have:
- Good Story
- Good Art

Can Be:
- Long
- With happy/unhappy ending
- Old (I don't search super-fantastic-newest-mangas)

Can Have
- Homosexual theme
- Different genres than romantic

Anyone know about manga with this preferences?

If you haven't read it, I recommend Socrates in Love. I haven't read the manga form of it, but the novel form was so bittersweet. A definite good emotional read ^^

Not sure if it fits what you are looking for, but i read a ton of manga, and have cried from something in manga a total of 6 times. 5 of those six were all from one series:
Bokurano

Does it have to contain all of those "must be" and "must have" preferences? "Good art" is rather dependent on your likes, isn't it?

Anyways, stuff which likely meets the "must be" and "must have" preferences:

Poppoya Love Letter
And I second Deep Love.
Eien no with is another one though it only starts to have romance in the latter part of the story.
Emma is very good.

Stuff which meets only some of the "must be" and "must have" criteria:

A'A from Four shoujo stories is good though romance isn't the main topic but rather a side thingy and the art... hmm... it's pretty old.

Hotarubi no Mori E is quite touching though it has only a bit of romance in it.

Oh and too bad it's still ongoing or I'd have recommended Blood Alone. It's very intense and oh wait... I'm sorry for dumping more manga on you again. bigrazz

Well, these are the ones I could come up with:
(Shoujo only smile)
1/6000 Honesty
Candy Candy - This manga is reeeaaalllyy depressing.
Can't lose you

People keep recommending Deep Love, which I didn't enjoy much, but it probably was emotional enough.
Socrates in Love is also highly recommended by some, I didn't read it, but might be okay.
Hot Gimmick is pretty emotional-like, though kind of shoujo, and might get annoying at times.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

from mangaproject.
Quote
This is the story of Alpha Hasseno, an Alpha 7 M2 series robot. Left by her owner, she appears and acts fully human while running a small coffee shop named Cafe Alpha. It is a light-hearted story about the people Alpha comes into contact with behind the backdrop of a futuristic country-side in Japan. As we meet Alpha, she makes a shopping trip to Yokohama.

Made me, cry by the end. You read and tell us all, smile wink grin

I"s
Threw me for a turn, about 7 times.
Ichigo 100%
A little ecchi and long but its pretty good if you read to the end.
The Demon Ororon
Hands down the best manga I've ever read.
Hitsuji no Uta
Suggested incest, but a really good story.
Koi Kaze
Incestuos, but the depth of the story gets to you and makes you think....

Thats all I have right now..... but emotional manga is my thing. I always end up reading and crying at a manga like 4 times, and when its over I cry some more, and then I go pick up another one and repeat the process.

Oh sure... no problem at all! smile

One last question: by "homosexual", does this mean you're fine with lesbian works as well? 'Cos ehh... the term "homosexual" means both a gay man and a lesbian woman?

If you are, then I'm going to start suggesting yuri works in my next post. smile

Oh yah...

Ai no Shintairiku is pretty good and you really feel for the girl. smile It's not that emotional and it's not sad but it is a departure from majority of those cheesy shoujo titles.
