The ending was good enough. I like how Kagome called some-certain-one "oniisan" ^^ Aww, kawaii~ biggrin

The only thing that keep bothering me is: what about Inuyasha's life span? He was alive for more than 50 years right? But he was stucked by Kikyou's arrow so I'm not sure about his life span. Is his the same as Sesshomaru's?

I did not like the ending... Except for that part, that was frickin' awesome!

Am I the only one who wanted a sad ending? I would have loved it if the well had just stayed sealed; love lost = awesome ending.

Agreed. It's a nice manga and all (draggy, even if this is repeating about 1000 other people, but still nice-ish) but I'd loved a sad ending.

And that onii-san part was adorable! bigrazz

I believe his lifespan is like youkai’s or close to that. I don’t remember if it was in the manga, but in one of the movies it was said that Inu-Taisho died about 150 or 200 (I don’t remember exactly) ears ago. Which makes Inu-yasha about 100-150 years old by the time he was pinned to the tree. I’m not sure if the movie counts, but if there was nothing about this in the manga, then it’s the only age we know.
So, in 20-30 years we’ll have a dried-up Kagome and still young Inu-yasha. Why does not mangakas ever think about that? It was so damn easy to make her immortal in this manga, something like “oh, she is mortally wounded and will die if we won’t feed mermaid’s meat”, would do perfectly.

i was thinking the same thing. and if we take the example set by his dad, we'll probably be seeing an inuyasha season 2 set about 70 years later. :]

All these little things, like inuyasha's and kagome's life span difference, should have been covered. I think the mangaka just wanted it over with. xD

The ending gave me closure, and that's it. It didn't really leave an impression on me. After 56 volumes i expected something amazing and you know, all sparkly and happy. And if it wasn't happy, then at least make it depressing! Over all, the ending was just bland, very bland in my opinion.

The movies weren't canon, were they? With all the mention of 300-year-old youkai being old and respected (in the manga), it seems weird that a half-human boy would be that old and... well, look at him. I guess Takahashi just decided that they'll have a happy end and that's that.

I thought it was a pretty good ending as far as manga endings go, but I'd kind of have preferred for Kagome (and Inuyasha) to stay in her time. It just seems so weird that she'd go through, er, seventeen years of life there with the comforts and everything and not stay. And it's not like Inuyasha had too much trouble there, either. I guess Takahashi didn't want the well staying open for some kind of perfect ending.

...and oh yeah, they didn't kiss. On one hand - disappointing. On the other hand - after what Inuyasha said in the previous few chapters, it was kinda made up for.

I guess I liked it but it was too predictable for me. A little too original.... embarrassed

It was a good ending. Nothing mind blowing and a bit saccharine for some but it was the definitive ending everyone still reading was looking for.

As for the Inuyasha age thing, just think positive. Since it's been confirmed that reincarnation exists in his world, all he has to do is look for her in her next life. Hopefully she won't come back as his grand daughter or grand son. That would just be awkward. laugh

Actually, I don't think the reincarnation thing would work at all. One thing I was REALLY happy about was that Takahashi didn't make Kagome end up with Inuyasha's reincarnation at the end. The entire story has proved that a reincarnation is not the same as the original by far. Kagome didn't fall in love with Inuyasha (and vice versa) because she was Kikyou's reincarnation, and all three of them didn't see the two females as the same person. They had totally different minds, different experiences, different feelings... They were different people. For either Inuyasha or Kagome to fall in love with the other's reincarnation would ignore that message and cheapen the story because of that... because it'd mean that Inuyasha was just ending up with Kikyou anyway.

And he didn't. He was able to let go of her and find a new love.

I watched the anime for about 2 seasons worth a few years ago, then skipped to the last 3 chapters of inu yasha, and it felt like it was an ending that coulda taken place any time during those first 2 seasons. Pretty cliched but at least it ended. Can't hate it can't really commend it

I love the series but I'd have to say that the ending was unsatisfying. I'm happy with Miroku and Sango but everything else was kind of..what was the word everyone used? Bland? Like boring..didn't explain anything..non-finishing.

What happens after? What happened to poor Kouga? What's Sesshoumaru doing now? err...Age? What about the time of where Kagome came from?
etc.etc.etc. ><

ooh..there was only one other thing I had thought after reading the chapter..."WHAT?!! Not even a kiss?!! After how many times Inuyasha has kissed with Kikyou!!" which is like twice or something..but still T____T

After that whole series..I still think Inuyasha love Kikyou more.. cry

Ahhh!! Regardless of all that...Inuyasha = Love!

Ooh..and someone before said that a sad ending wouldn't have gone bad with this series. I agree! biggrin

I believe that everyone who has posted here has finished reading the manga ( I didn't >.< ). I have just watched around a hundred or so episodes and have watched all the three or four ( I am not sure anymore -_-" ) movies. I haven't read a single page of the manga dead . So here are some questions I hope I can ask here. Long descriptions are not required.
1. What about Sango and the monk (Forgot the name, miroko ? Ah, forget it! )
Do they end up together ? Considering the fact that he is a playboy although somewhere in the episodes I remember him pledging Sango some kids ^_^ and Sango asking for a promise on his part not look at any other woman anymore. Well you know how it ends from there from the monks part.

2. Didn't Kagome and Inu Yasha end up together ? . I keep hearing something bout re-incarnation. Did Inu Yasha die or is it about Kagome being Kikyou's re-incar ?

In the end of Ranma 1/2, Akane and Ranma are about to get married, but Ranma is a big blockhead and says crappy stuff again. Shampoo, Ukyo, and Kodachi are so pissed they trash his wedding. And so, quoth the last line, "Love Goes into overtime". AKA, no conclusion.
XD

I'm just glad it's over. The ending was decent and gave some closure but it wasn't spectacular. (Better than Ranma at least.)

I agree, but I don't even remember Ranma's ending.
