That's realistic, I'm sick of reading manga with all these damn triangle drama things, especially when the main character is a *censored* idiot, or just a coward!
What I'd like to read is a manga where the main character isn't; 1. An idiot 2. Insensitive 3. Unable to understand the opposite sex
And yeah, I don't really care about the genre but I'm not really into Yaoi and Yuri as main themes, don't care if it's a bit on the side but they have a knack of making things a bit unrealistic in that almost anyone is or can be homosexual... Interesting notion but I think it fails IRL!
..... I don't think these exist, because, realistically, everyone is kind of an itiot, cant understand the oposite sex, and most people are inadvertantly insensitive because of those two things. Maybe you are the normal, mature one, whereas everyone else isn't. You could try some Seinan series, but I dont personally know f any that fit into this catagory.

Well, I firmly believe that you can read both Skip Beat! and Perfect Girl Evolution as if the main character is not 1. An idiot or 3. Unable to understand the opposite sex. However they do a lot of things that would lead you to believe such things. or I could just be plugging them because I loves them so. not that I like the rest of these any less but they actually fit your description....
Crimson Hero is good though at times she can be a little dense regarding boys but not painfully so. Kimi ni Todoke the main character is just clueless about people in general not just boys Girlfriend but this is mature and a compilation of shorts for the most part. Oshaberi na Jikanwari is based on a true story and mind bogglingly cute Paradise Kiss Although it has been a while since I read it so I may be wrong
zelda1899 is right, every real life romance I've seen has plenty of misinterpretations and failure to communicate properly and lots of "wow they are both so totally into one another why don't they just go for it?"

Main character as in male? or female? anyways, for a smart girl in love or at least with a head on her shoulders there are Dice & saboten no himitsu...both arent very funny but somehow nice...maybe B-Shock,Beast Master, For Someone ..definitely Dramacon!
