nah 14 is pretty possible. i remember my first time playing VIII that squall was jacked out at 100 zell was 21. everyone else had a level of 13 or lower. only reason squall was so high was cause of all the side quests and then the visits to the island closest to heaven/hell to level him up

Well bosses in FFVIII don't give any XP, the hardest part was to get some optional stuff while trying not to gain any XP. But most of the required story line don't require any leveling up. That was just an example at how low you can finish a game if you try to.
Well talking about RPG, I just came across this:
The Grand List Of Console Role Playing Game Clichés
It was in my bookmarks for almost 2 years now... I totally forgot about it. But I found really funny back then. I found some stuff in there to be really accurate and hilarious.

OK Stealth that is like the best list ever.

Of course. Plot is what makes me play and shooters have pretty lame plots.
That's pretty true except for one case in my opinion: Halo. That is one series that I will play through the story before even touching the multiplayer.
Since people are talking about secret weapons and what not the only FF games that I actually got all of those were VII and X, and in X I had all of the weapons power unlocked with at least the first item so that my summons could break limit and with several of the characters weapons fully powered up (if you've played X you should know what I'm talking about since I didn't really say it that well). Whew talk about a run-on sentence .

@ silentdeath. you fail! lol. i mean. you should get all the final stuff for all games etc. and as for FFX.....no point in powering up crap weapons. just get the final weapons...i mean u could make the final...but no point.... i redid the sphere grid completely with +4 clusters for everything. even took out that nemesis monster or w/e its called for fun. *sigh* talk about time consuming.
was it just me or does ur characters power really not matter during the final fight? in any case all this FF talk makes me wanna play....still haven't completed 12

i've only completed 7,8,9,10 and 10-2. i have tactics but just stopped playing. same with 4. haven't played 3,5 or 6. tried the original 1 and 2. but to confusing with the bad graphics and everyone looking the same. will try the remakes eventually..hmm tried tactics advanced also i think...some game boy game. wasn't impressed. prolly won't ever play 11(even though it looks nice).
to behind in console rpgs to worry about an online one with updates etc. plus it goes against the FF set story bit that i am used to(which annoys me- it shouldn't have counted as FF IMO). and 12 i stopped playing. i have like 60 hours on it and i'm only like 30% done. since i do all the hunts when they are available..which means leveling up majorly at the beginning to complete them. pretty ghey how the magic comes as the game progresses. my guys are like 40+ and i'm only a bit past where u get the first storyline summon.
hmmm.. oh yeah i used to have FF Crystal Chronicles. that game blew. never finished, assuming it has an ending. i was so pissed with it. the crappiness compares to Unlimted Saga.

I've beat FFII (US), FFVI, FFVII, FFX, FFXII. I've played through large parts of FFV on emulator (never finished it), almost beat IX (stopped playing before I finished it), and never played VIII (or II or III, and got bored of I pretty quickly).
@Varna
I found the leveling in FFXII to be pretty annoying. If you actually play through it properly (ie. straight through), you need to do a LOT of extra leveling to progress through the story, much less doing all the extra hunts and stuff. I actually got annoyed and restarted and did some power-leveling at the start. It was a boring couple of hours to level Vaan to ~30 at the start, but it's a lot better than trying to level all 6 characters later on (since XP gets divided, and people join your party at the average party level).

i guess i got lucky on that. i leveled so much at the beginning that everything is smooth sailing like that first summon i killed within 20 seconds, and that is not with those limit break moves...i can't remember what they are called this time around. i got hit like once and then it was over. i actually went online for weapon help too fo the hunts...since magic sucked so bad and i was getting pissed. got that....what was it. deathbringer for all my characters. took a bit of time with the rare monster that u have to get it from but w/e.
and yeah i hate the divided experience somewhat. actually. i usually killed that 4th character when leveling up if the level is the same as everyone else. since i tdivides for the 4th character also, who won't level up....so ghey. i didn't realize that until way later but eh lol.
so FF6? i love the OST for it lol even though i haven't played the game. guess i will order it this month.

@Varna, I was at the point in X where all of my summons were doing break damage of 99999 no matter what attack it was, and with Tidus doing break damage too. I had everyone's own sphere grid completed and was working on the neighboring grids. Did I mention that I had every summon including the secret ones, which came in handy when defeating the omega dungeon. Speaking of the omega dungeon it was the best place to level up since, besides the fact that all the eneimes could wipe the floor with you if you weren't careful, you could just run around the save point and wait for random encounters and heal without using mp. I wouldn't consider doing all that extra stuff time consuming when I actually had fun doing it (Blitzball + Jhect Shot + Recruiting = win).
As for the FF games that I have finished they would be VII and X. I played through half of VIII, IX, and XII and decided that I didn't really care for the characters as much as the characters from VII and X. Technically I have played all the FF games, except for XI, but III through VI where on emulators and I couldn't get used to playing with my keyboard. I need to get some money and pick up several of those on the gameboy. Oh yea forgot to mention FF tactics advanced since I finished it, and I wish I could find a copy of the original for the PS.

the story for the original ps tactics is way more complicated, but also way better. i really didnt like the gba plot at all. most of the units are way different so it'll be like a brand new game. Hint: use the calculator, they own all

lol sry to burst ur bubble but summons have to do with Yuna's stats. as long as she is jacked out they are also. all my characters had 255 for all stats except luck. break damage is a given with the final weapons... as for sphere grid all my characters had every node activated and all where redone. omega dungeon isn't anything special, its more of a joke. did u bother to beat the final creation monster? even with all stats maxed it had moves that hit for 40k+ hp. blitz ball wasn't hard either. oh on a side note everyone hits 99,999 after a certain level hits for strength. there are exceptions if u use the final weapon. like say auron has full life he does a touch less damage.
oh just so you know omega dungeon wasn't the best place to level up. creation monsters were since there is no real level. after u custom make weapons...damn ur gonna make me check my save file from 2+ years ago aren't you......
*time elapses*
ahh here it is. this is what i did for Sphere levels. i custom made weapons for everyone. the abilities were like so
Triple Ap
Overdrive > AP
Triple Overdrive
then change overdrive charge mode to Stoic which is when u take damage. some creations easily hit for 99,999 as counters etc if i remember correctly. thats how i got 99 s.lvls in one battle no problem. then just buy those clear spheres to erase the crap spheres that were +1 etc. specific creation monsters dropped +4 stuff etc each having its set category like strength. THENNNNNN. there is a monster that drops like 40 of this one item. when u hit them with a distiller. at the end of that battle u can get 40 mana spheres etc at your discretion. that in turn helps to be able to cover the redone sphere grid for everyone fast. so HA. beat that. nothin in that game can kill u then. that includes nemesis. all u gotta do is summon a monster and let it die as a sacrifice when nemesis decides to rape u with that juggernaut move.
the hardest part of this game IMO was catching 10 of every monster. that is extremely time consumming. i feel quite nerdy after saying all this...
as for FF tactics ps right?. i can pick one up fer ye next time i go visit home. . that is assuming u don't mind the greatist hits version. payed 15 bucks. idk when i visiting again though lol they have it everytime i go though usually. wow i checked the price online lol. can't believe its selling for so high. eh hahaha. *sigh* i need to buy origins and anthology next time i go there also. maybe get FF9 again. i have a scratch on one of my discs.

@Varna, no I never got Excalibur II, That was almost one of the only secrets in a FF game I played that I didn't bother to get.
Because FFIX was not really to my taste I must say... I got bored of it quite fast.
And lol... in FFX I re-did the entire sphere grid... Have 255 in every single stat... (including luck... that was SUCH A PAIN!!! you just don't imagine how much time does that take, you had to kill one earth eater for every 2 fortune sphere and 1 other monster creation for every 2 luck spheres)
And yeah, the leveling strategy you mentioned is basically what I used...
The omega dungeon was also really a joke... Really the only few tough battles left after that are Nemesis of the monster creation + the few last Dark Aeons the first ones are easy. And of course the all mighty Penance, which was a pain even with all the stats maxed.

Yea the damage they do is related to Yuna's stats but to get the summons, that you get by completing the cloisters, to break damage you have to unlock the corresponding character's ultimate weapon with at least the crest thingie All the secret summons can do break damage from the time that you get them, that is except for yojimbo since he requires Aurons Masamune with a crest.
As for the final creation monster that you keep mentioning I really don't know what you are talking about since the only secret boss that I remember is Omega weapon (at least I think that was his name it's been more than 3 years since I beat him). Anyway what version were you playing, cause I know that the international version had more things in it than the version released here in the states? The one that I played was the greatest hits version since the only way for me to get the International version would be to import it and play it on a modded ps2, and that would be too much money spent on something that I could careless about.
Edit: Found out about Nemesis and have to say that I never did any of the monster creation since it didn't seem interesting to me, so yea disregard everything that I said after the bit about which summons cannot break limit without the corresponding crest.
As for the ps FF tactics the last time that I saw that game anywhere near me was a greatest hits version at my local blockbuster bout two years ago. Now it is impossible to find since just about every store that sells games doesn't sell psone games anymore.
