Hello hello , i registered on this forum after viewing how much One piece was said to be 'over rated' or just hack & slash like Naruto or Bleach.

One Piece has been running since 97 & over 500 Chapters were published & read by thousands if not millions of readers.

Let's try to analyze a bit the One Piece concept.

First :: The World of One Piece.

We have a very complex and well thought of background.
The golden age of pirates calls for strong willed characters & charismatic leaders.
From the hierarchy that reigns over the world (Yonko - WG - Shishibukai) and their affinities, is a positive & unique point that makes OP Better than the other ones;to the secrets held by the porneglyphs that can only be understood by a few select individuals. or the map of the world itself counting in the discord of the revolutionist Draco against WG. One piece provides us with a multitude of direction of high quality in the story line that kept us reading it for more than 10 years !. It can not be compared to bleach where the whole story line is limited to Soul Society, it can't be also compared to Naruto where i saw televisions & talkie walkie's in what is supposed to be an era of ninjas.

Second :: The Character !

At first glance, he appears to be a very simple minded fella; tho he showed us at multiple times his brave attitude towards life in general & his genius when it comes to fighting with what he has (fight against crocodile & resolve after the loss against Ao Kiji). I mean, Did we ever see Luffy in a 'weak character's position' ?
His tremendous care for his crew mates & attitude against his enemies (even the very cold hearted ones) has printed some serious moral in me.
"I will be the pirate King" , "I Will obtain the One Piece", " Burn down the flag (WG Flag in Enies lobby) An outrageous fella ! he even smiled when he was about to be decapitated in logue town.
Luffy can't be compared to our emo kid naruto or to the boy who got some extra natural powers because he met a shinigami who was doing his night shift :/ .

Third :: The Fights

I'd rank the OP fights N1 because they are so diversified.
Characters with totally unrelated powers fight. The number & types of Devil Fruits also justifies my ranking. We saw sword users as well as chars who fight with their voices, eyes or bare fists or sand,fire water , ice , time , gravity. Which makes them a lot more funny, twisted & interesting.
While in Bleach, it's sword vs sword, same remark for naruto.

Discuss. Also, damn if it wasn't 2 AM i'd have made this a lot longer !

Great post I agree on many of your points, biggest being that One Piece is Better than Naruto and Bleach.
My main thing I have to say is about fights in Naruto. Each person has their own skill set and weaponry, only sharing the basic items (shuriken etc). Also I found some One Piece abilities kinda dumb, so variety ain't all that great.

Absolutely but they are funnier.
Also Naruto beats Bleach on that point. Bleach fights are like ' STANDARIZED '.
While in Naruto, we at least have ninjutsu,taijustsu users etc..

Well, I like ALL 3 manga, but OP is definitely the best of them. Considering the lack of conversations in the last volumes of Bleach (it's just pictures and pictures) and kinda ridiculous last chapters of Naruto...

Well, but OP HAS its BIG "minus": nobody EVER dies there.

I have to admit, I agree with everything you said. But, also, as Blaise said, nobody EVER dies, it gets alittle.. stupid?

Now here's a question from me to you. Why would anyone be killed by Luffy; that's just not his nature. & he also wouldn't let any friend of him get killed.

Tho, lots of ppl did Die in One Piece, Gol.D Roger, Nami's mother, Jaguar D. Saul,Robin's mother & the lot of the ohara people; if it wasn't so late ; i'd cite some more ;_;

But if a character is no longer relevant to the story, is it not the same as if he was dead? Let's consider Eneru. The last "mini-story" that appears on the covers shows that he is on the moon. Quite unlikely that he will make any meaningful appearance any time soon. Or the CP9, given their current state. You don't need to physically kill them to take them out of the story. If it's about the blood and gore of killing, plenty of other manga to provide that exist.

Yeah, One Piece is my fave out of the three. And D.God just got here before i did. People do die in One Piece. Have you not read the current chapters? A pirate just committed suicide by biting off his tongue so he wouldn't get sold off as a slave.

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about how they[main characters] always come back to life from like, fatal injuries and stuff.. If you've read V.G Cats, theres a parody of it there.

But what exactly displeases you in the fact that Luffy, after eating 10's of killos in meat comes back with a strategy to beat the hell out of Crocodile?
His fault for not finishing our luffy :3

i cant agree more that One Piece beats naruto and bleach, i have said for a long time now that this is an amazing story and the characters have a lot of depth especially when compared to other series.

but THE best character in it has got to be chopper he's sooo my favourite, and the bounty of 50 beri broke my heart

So are you saying that you want one of the Strawhats dead? You must be crazy. Luffy picked this crew (well most of them anyway) to be his crew. None of them are weak and each of them play an important role. If one of them were to die then there would be no more Strawhats. Also Luffy stated that he would protect them and doesn't want any of them to die.

But this is an absolute must for these types of Dragon Ball influenced shounens. After all, nothing beats getting killed a bazillion times only to use those spheres to come back to life. At least in One Piece they don't use some ridiculous revival method.
