"Poftă bună" (same as Bon Appetit) in Romanian and at the end of the meal "Să vă fie de bine", which I have no idea how to translate. Something along the lines of "may the food feed you well".

In English I don't really say much when I eat with family or with friends you just eat lol. Never payed attention what my parents or other family members say in Spanish before eating. Usually we gather around the table and say a quick prayer in Spanish like "Gracias Dios por la comida que no as dado". (Thanks God for the food you have given us) But that's only with family not much with friends

"Guten Hunger" or just "Mahlzeit" are more common over here.
hmmm where I´m from "Mahlzeit" is used as a hello during the time from12-14pm
and we either use "guten Apetit" or (waaay more common) "`n gute´"

If I'm eating with people inclined to say grace, I'll join them. If not, I'll just politely comment on how good the food looks, whether it actually does or not.

we prance around in our underwear while doing the hokey pokey, the first one that screws up has to go eat with the hobos around the corner. D:

I don't know if anyone said anything for the Chinese.
These are just some of the phrases I've heard.
開動了- kai dong le <-- Mandarin. Used often in Chinese mangas to replace Itadakimasu
大家食飯 - dai ga sik fan <-- Cantonese. It means "Everyone eat" literally. Usually it's deemed polite for a kid to "tell" his/her elders to eat before they actually start eating.
我唔客氣啦- ngo ng hak he la <-- Cantonese. It means "I'm not going to be polite" literally (sorta). Basically said when you eat before others start eating.
請慢用 <-- I've seen people use this as an example. This isn't something that a person eating would say perse, but something a waitress/waiter would say. Just not someone who is partaking in the action of eating.
